I hardly know about the details of our central banking system and political systems as a whole. I am god drat ignorant. After I am certain about what I am talking about, I'll have an opinion and not before.

*zips mouth and goes to the library*

However, I still see where the money flows and from a basic perspective it does not look good!

This was an excellent series of vids explaining banking
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-HOz8T6tAo&feature=relmfu

Fyi, I took finance and economics classes in college, and have a degree on the subject, but even college classes and books are confusing on the matter. Very few people fully understand all the pieces involved in making the system work. These vids explained it way better than my book/teacher has.

this is all anyone needs to know about the world banking system of central banks

take your time and listen to the whole thing very carefully - rewind and re-listen if necessary - its eye-opening.

So many videos  Shocked  Given that the average person reads at over 3 times the speed at which they listen, giving him youtube links is literally wasting 2/3 of his time.

Try reading the financial pages of a serious newspaper every day for a week.

I recall the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words." How many films can you watch in an afternoon compared to novels? Besides, the OP asks a question with a complex answer that is very much a matter of opinion. It helps to have some background information to help decide for yourself about the answers. Considering that some major financial newspapers are owned by a publisher that will close down a 170 y/o newspaper for extremely unethical behavior, I'm not sure what constitutes a serious newspaper anymore.

Maybe its just me personally but I read over 500 words per minute and find that I get bored waiting for people in documentaries to finish their sentences.  But if videos work for you and articles don't, then obviously you'd best ignore me Tongue

You comment on bias is very true but its true of all media.  If you want to understand the flow of money, its all about seeing lots of stories rather than reading one "true" story.  That's why I suggested the financial pages of a serious paper.  In US, the WSJ, NYT, LAT, WP and Bloomberg all have at least OK financial sections.

A picture must be used when words aren't enough.

But a video instead of words? Useless, you force a person to lose 10 minutes watching something, where he could read the same thing in a minute (and at the rate he prefer)
