I've been researching and sourcing stuff. I found some nice looking 90 degree power plug cables from kenable.co.uk, along with decently priced usb cables. BUT the power cables are scrypt only grade, they won't take dual mining, well, not long term. I suspect this may apply to most ready made power cables.
I'll be making myself a bunch of 5A power cables, anyone else interested? I'll can put pci-e, cpu-power or molex ends on them. I can also put ends on that plug into corsair RM supplies or EVGA, they aren't compatible with each other though... the contacts are rated at 9A, one gridseed per 12V pin and maybe 2 hubs per 5V seems a sensible maximum. 850W corsairs have 25x 12V that are easy to plug and 5x 5V, more than plenty. 15x gridseeds in dual mode is probably maxing them out. My RM1000s are tricky to get to for a look, but I think they have more.
Give me a few weeks and I may be making gridseed cases too
Hubs.
On the pi, hubs can be stacked 3 deep. There is already a hub in the pi. That means you can only stack external hubs 2 deep. Hub controllers seem to only go up to 7 port, which means the most gridseeds you can theoretically connect to a pi without an unusual hub is 2x7x7 =98. I don't know if a pi will run this many, I'll be trying 30. The point is that 7 port hubs are the best to use if you want to dangle a lot of gridseeds off a pi. 10 and 13 port hubs have two stacked controllers, the 13s could be useful as 1st level hubs though
Don't forget that you NEED powered hubs. 5V Hub power can come from an ATX psu, as can 12V power for gridseeds. People don't seem to like the cheapo 12v supplies usually supplied with gridseeds.
I've mostly been running corsair RM series for my gpu rigs for months, no failures, a couple of them at 105% of rated load, so they get my stamp of approval...

But then i noticed it is really that easy: 1. Unpack, connect power cables, usb cables to the hub, and micro-usb (power) to raspberry 2. Connect the raspberry to your LAN 3. Open your browser: http://hashracontroller4. Enter your details for the pool 5. Connect the USB hub to raspberry 6. Smile ... Thats it!

So we're using the same image, except my is 8GB (version 1.2.7) Hoped for modified scripta for gridseed with some nice features such as backup pools, email alerts and more information than Hashra. Current version requires some knowledge of how linux works and my experience is very basic so I can't configure it properly. Next version should support Gridseed natively and will use BFGminer as default one instead of CGminer.

If anyone finds another eu group buy, let us know? I just sold a lot of mining gear to finance gridseeds, the cash is doing nothing until I buy more...
