It is not a helpful post. And I do not know why the merit giver given this merit. But I think it may merit abuse or he/she has given as poster wanted to enter crypto-currency and giver given merit as many more people might be interested.

You need to provide a lot more than that (address connections of some sort) if you want to make a good case for merit abusers + always archive the proof (ex. Like this).

that is no wrong to that guy want to merit to anyone he like
even maybe that not a quality post

You might be right, anyone has the right to give any post a Merit but we should at least consider "only give those posts that deserves Merit". What the sender just did is really wrong for me because he/she just gave enough Merits to make a Jr. Member rank up to Member to a post that doesn't contain any valuable information.

I don't agree that those low quality poster should receive Merits, it will defeat the main purpose of Merit System in case that happens. They should somehow learn how to improve writing in English first before they receive their award. There are lot of members giving their full effort at making quality posts but still having hard time to receive Merits, I won't just let that these low quality posters to rank up faster than quality posters.

No matter who is the owner of those sMerits, those sMerits should only be distributed to quality posters of the Forum.

I think we can do nothing about this, the quantity of merit is very low and I think none of DT members will tag them for 10 points.
I've found hundreds of those cases in the past I've simply stopped to report them.

I disagree, even though the amount of Merit used is 1 once it is used in the wrong way of distributing, we should still take some actions. Merits are so precious and the amount of 10 Merits is way too many to just put into waste. I'm keeping my few sMerits to spend them on good threads/posts and sometimes I encountered a time when I saw a quality posts but I don't have Merits to give. The highest amount of Merits I gave is 2 and I keep giving every good post with 1 sMerit. My main point is I'm reserving my sMerit to award quality posters while there are people who were just abusing it which is pretty unfair.

That's why I disagree that we should just disregard these people abusing few Merits.
