Hey guys, i need to get myself a computer for everyday work and travelling,
nothing too special, just enough for basic writing, watching videos and eventually playing with some entry-level scripts.
My budget is approx 500 bucks, i've heard that refurbished thinkpads are a great deals. What do you think, any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

ThinkPads would be a great option I think. I don't know how good they would be in your prices range. I do know that they are well known for their great battery life. You may even consider getting a Chromebook. They are all quick cheap and they'll let you do the basics that you want. You shouldn't have any problem really buying something in your price range, since your needs are very simple. A Mac wouldn't fit in your price range, but I don't think you need one anyway.

With $ 500 and according to your needs, your advice on buying a used Acer Core i7 laptop is enough, in addition to the pretty spec, the price is quite affordable in my opinion

Acer & Dell have always treated me right. If you find a refurb mac, I'd go with that though.

I truely recommend you a acer laptop. Seriously I actually have one and it's been like 4 years I have it and still no lag and it's working perfectly! Plus, you can find some models that are under 500 bucks.
