If things are going to be okay (MTGOX is NOT insolvent, there won't be a bankruptcy), why did he resign? It is not like Karpeles to bend to public opinion.

If they were about to close down, why would they go to the trouble of relocating their offices? Not something I'd be doing if I were about to shut down a business.

Do you see it as a lot of trouble to just publish a virtual office address and stick to working from home/wherever?

Do we even have any idea how many people usually work from the office that had the protests going on outside of it?

They just got an address to receive mail. If it was a safety issue, why disclose the new address?

Unless you're a dumb fat latte sipping retard who doesn't want to have to be confronted by disgruntled customers everyday you walk into work or walk out.

He's afraid of a confrontation, so the easiest thing to do is to hide.

I love it how some folks look for the "well maybe it's just that he's......., so it will all be okay".

Let's face reality, GOX is dead, that's a good thing. Let's move on and stop believing that GOX will recover.

Thats why you're always just a victim and never can do fraud.

What a naive thinking.

I absolutely agree. How can them moving to a virtual office be a good thing?

They didn't relocate their office.  They closed their office.

They got a phone drop and a mail drop.

This is exactly what a company about to go out of business would do.

What ever they are doing is working. People are obviously believing the shutting down errrrrrmmm relocating is a positive thing.

If things are going to be okay (MTGOX is NOT insolvent, there won't be a bankruptcy), why did he resign? It is not like Karpeles to bend to public opinion.

Regardless of the outcome of Gox... the image is tarnished.  As is Mr Karpeles.

Companies and foundations try to maintain a certain image,  if someone on the board brings too much negative press they are usually asked to resign or resign on their own.

This is true for almost any company in the world if someone on the board gets caught up in some sort of scandal or really bad press or a company feels the person isn't the image they want.

In Japan, creditors don't have to prove that a company is insolvent to put them into bankruptcy. All creditors have to prove is that they've suspended payments on their debts. That's easy to prove with Mt. Gox - they've announced that.

The end of this farce may be in sight. It's reasonably clear that Mt. Gox isn't going to do anything until someone makes them. Well, there are ways to make them.

Haha yeah. I doubt they can even afford to pay their bills now. Would a company like gox even really need a office building? Isn't all they'll need are computers and an internet connection?

If things are going to be okay (MTGOX is NOT insolvent, there won't be a bankruptcy), why did he resign? It is not like Karpeles to bend to public opinion.

He resigned because:

1) he is a founding member of the board, realizes he has damaged the board's brand and wishes no further damage to it directly related to his issues,
2) his board responsibilities to the foundation is nothing compared to his board responsibilities to MT. Gox
and
3) it was the right thing to do (it will kill at least 5 threads on in this forum).

Are you serious? Especially #3. When has Karpelese EVER done what's right?

It's amazing that people still believe in this guy and GOX.
