I don't mean to imply that my payouts indicate anything.  Just posting the #'s in case people are interested.
Personally, there's enough doubt in my mind to put the payouts elsewhere instead of re-investing in this.

i might have posted it already, but you might want to look at this review, it compares all cloud miners
https://cloudmining.guru/wp/category/reviews/

Yes, this advertising site camouflaged as a "review site" (which btw. is affiliated with pbmining, I would even go as far as suspecting they share the same operator) has been spammed by fake newbie accounts over and over and over.
As the very first posting from easy8 some 4 days ago was *cough* accidentally *cough* in this very thread in this hughe forum - it is clearly one of the fake spam accounts.

One more reason to stay away from them - on top of dozens of other reasons.

We are in no way affiliated with PBMINING nor other cloud mining providers.

Yeah, sure... Spoken like a true politician. Trustable like a politician.
You belong to the very same group that spams that likely ponzi all across the Forums since months.

Already forgot your "review site" ran an exclusive ad campaign for pbmining ?

This is their spam strategy. A "supposedly independent review site" and "supposedly legit forum accounts" spreading good opinions about it.
Both combined already tell me with a >95% probability that their operations are a ponzi and have criminal intent.

You might as well rename your account name to "PBMINING.GURU".

Anyway, nothing new under the sun, everything has been pointed out already. Those who chose to invest might be lucky and be out before it collapses - others not so much.
Free country, was their free decision.

Hmmm that feels kinda bad, i must say! But no, i am certainly not working for PBMining....  !!! i am simply researching a bit here, and this was the first thread i posted to, cause i read about pbmining in that review! what's so weird about it?
But if i look at your signature i can already tell you are wishing for a forum free of people trying to sell their stuff. I totally get that, and I am also here for the objective opinions.
I think that you belong to the 5% who stick to their principles, and the other 95% will be happy to sell their signatures. Sad but the world works like this.
By the way, do you know any platforms where they are objective, and you are certain about it? The link i posted was the best review/comparison I could find. I would really appreciate reading about mining at home versus cloud miners, and comparisons of cloud miners, and perhaps a site where they have some critiques... To me cloudmining guru seemed legit, but i would be interested in what else is there! You were right, I am a newbie and I might be naiv and think that something is legit, but that's why I am here on this forum, to try better understanding it... So if you could help me it would be appreciated. And no need to be mean. cheers

In the BTC world, you already got the figures about right. Finding something that is 100% legit (= not intending to rip you off) is the literal needle in the haystack.
Some 95% will (one way or another) look how to skim your money off you in a varying degree of aggressiveness.

Basically forget "official" reviews or institutions. Look through the forum, collect all information & perspectives and filter out those 95% to the best of your knowledge.
Then you're on track as good as possible.

As already written by many, dealing with BTC has almost become a no-brainer.
- forget mining
- buy BTC at a price you like
- hold it and hope for the best, sell into profitable runs if that's your goal

PS.
Technically I don't belong into this BTC world. 100% trustabity, honesty and integrity based on principles eons old seems so.... yesterday.
That oldschool stuff has gotten lightyears distance from mainstream it seems at times.
But it has given me fine senses for everything that smells like it lacks any of above criteria...

Anyway, I'm just a stranger in a strange world, so you're well-advised to keep collecting other opinions on the matter.

I appreciate your detailed answer, thank you! It sounds pretty disappointing though. This forum is just overwhelming, and I was really hoping that I can avoid spending all my free time here Cheesy maybe i should consider looking for another topic for my thesis... everything is too complex, no reliable sources... the field is just too new i guess. but whatever, i will stick around and see how it goes. cheers

Because if it lasts until the autumn I will be in profit.  Smiley Simple as that.

I think I will avoid this thread from now on.  A lot of uncertainty and a lot of negativity in it.  I will pop back If and when the payments dry up.

To be honest, it raised a flag inside of me.

It seems too good to be true.

They do add stuff, but I saw it, and it raised flags.

Do they provide an address? I can drive over and check it out; I live in Sask. so it takes maybe a few hours drive.

As long as they keep paying, I think everyone is happy.

Pretty good ponzi scheme they got going there!   Tongue

Most ponzi's look good in the beginning.  Doesn't prove they're a legitimate business, until they show they have provable mining equipment as stated numerous times.

I signed up and bough my first 10 GH/s on 3/27/14.

This is from 2 accounts.

Total Bitcoin out of Pocket   6.78281814

Re-Invested   4.32608560

Total BTC spent   11.10890374

Total BTC Received   6.95102469

Total Hash (GH/s)   1966.50

Assets (GHz Value at current price of 0.004)    7.86600000

Bitcoin Into Pocket   2.62493909

This isn't an argument for the validity of PBMining, just information. A portion of the profits have come from referrals - which is at about 100 GH/s.

So at 3.6 BTC for 1 TH/s ... pretty much only the Antminer S1 is cheaper.  (6 of them for ~ 3 BTC)
Then 5 years for power ... That is 60 months or probably at least a few hundred dollars.

So either there isn't any profit in this or it is a Ponzi style scheme.   Since they don't post any wallets getting rewards it seems likely it isn't real mining, or at least not 100% real mining.   However, it seems likely this could still run for years if people keep buying.

if someone use their brain to think about this scheme, noboy will think this is real mining
you can see their address for send payment everyweek : https://blockchain.info/address/1Payday1sm5wGqtatKscfXnxARZ2B2MF3z
their coins from mixing/share coin feature, not from pools.
i bet they will shut down in this years, if only few people buy their "fantasy contracts" Grin
