Hello everyone, My old account with the name of username "hamzaaz" was suspended due to some security reasons Today I received a call from this number "00564187"

He asked me that he is calling from localbitcoins.com ( When he called me then at the same time I received a support ticket confirmation message from no-reply@localbitcoins.com that your support ticket number # has been received even there is no ticket with this number on my account "r/https://localbitcoins.com/p/hamzaaz") He also told me all the details what I asked in my ticket number #552473 on my account of hamzaaz Then after that, he asked me that have I a blockchain account I said yes then asked me to give me the 12 words recovery phrase of my blockchain wallet. He wanted to steal my BTC from blockchain. I didn't give him 12 words recovery phrase then he asked that he will block my account on localbitcoins.com Now tell me is localbitcoins scamming? ( i am sorry).

If the person is not from localbitcoins support then how I suddenly received a ticket number and also how he told me details of my ticket Huh?

Waiting for a reply I am so worried about what's happening on localbitcoins.

here are both screenshot of call and mail and also of my ticket list

It's more then likely that this person has access to your email (or has a keylogger), that could explain how he knew the details about your ticket.

Is that number from Pakistan? Localbitcoins is based on Fineland I believe. If the number is nowhere to find in their site, It's not them. I wouldn't be worried that much, there is no way they would close your account for not giving your wallet seed.

If you open the mail in browser you have more options (possibly only on computer). At right side under the 3-point "More" you can open a menu and from there choose "Show original".
There you'll find the extended info and you may see where the e-mail actually came from, since some things can be faked and some not.

This call from scammer, Localbitcoins never call you.

they just send SMS only in some cases but not calls.

Try to use secure computer and change all your access to localbitcoins data password, it's actually at risk if someone access to it,

also change your email password and everything.

make sure you are using 2 factor and open new ticket with localbitcoins to confirm with them about this call, I am sure they will deny even calling you.

Here is your checklist :

  • use secure device and computer make sure you install "Comodo Internet Security" free version is fine or any Internet Security Software and scan your computer.
  • change password of email and set 2 factor with email access also.
  • change password and set 2 factor with localbitcoins.

They don't have rights to suspend or block your account for not giving your wallets private key,and other says the LBC will never call you at any situation so some have access to your account so immediately you need to turn on 2FA and also the other security features like IP detection which maybe very helpful to avoid unauthorized login even if they got your login details.

That was surprising since the caller knows everything. What surprising more is the events are properly timed.

Obviously if the caller asked for 12 words seed then it's a clear scam/shit. The question is why the events happened are properly on executed time.

If you are eager to know how is that become possible then asked localbitcoins support itself and see if they have an idea about it.

It seems that you are not the only one who has subjected to such attempts. There is caution about this email.[1]
Localbitcoins is a famous company, so they will never ask you to send information about another wallet or platform.

If the person is not from localbitcoins support then how I suddenly received a ticket number and also how he told me details of my ticket Huh?
Based on [1], I think that the company "localbitcoin" does not have access to this email. You can get additional information if you post that the story here.[2]
Note that you are using your phone so make sure you have not installed an unknown application.

No legit business, including localbitcoins, would ever call you and ask for your recovery phrase. Remember to never give it out (it's good that you didn't), as it is pretty much the private key that grants anyone access to your coins.

Either your email, localbitcoins, or computer is probably infiltrated by a hacker, as it definitely isn't Localbitcoins itself doing this.

I don't know how the caller managed to pull this off to this extent of co-ordination, but you should certainly be wary now that something is exposed to a hacker remotely. As designbuyers said, your priority now should be securing all your accounts and computer.
