Money rent invested in Bitcoin

In my country rents are paid per annum. So a friend is considering investing the money in bitcoins to make some profits just before the rent gets due some time next year. What is your advise for him? Do you think this is foolhardy or wise decision?

The crypto market is highly volatile and I'm sure he knows that. He needs to ensure he buys the dip and not be in a haste especially the current sell off that started yesterday.
