Hey all,

I'm planning to start Scrypt mining (LTC, DC, etc..), currently i'm looking to build a 6x GPU (280x) with H81 BTC board in Ahmedabad OR buy one if available. According to the calculations..it might cost around 1.8 - 2.0 Lakh INR.

I'd highly appreciate if I could get some insights from experienced miners on the following..

# Is mining still profitable?? (Yes, I've read a lot of articles on this..still looking for opinions)
# Is anybody interested in collaborating in the project or managing the project??
# Where to buy the parts??
# Any other opinions??

** (NOTE) Also..Anybody in Ahmedabad reading this..can we have a quick meetup??

Thanks,
Manpreet Juneja

all H81 boards are sold out
try the asrock z87 killer m/b, instead. It has 7 pci-e slots - 3- 16x and 4- 1x. and all the 16x are 3.0. It has 1 molex connection to support multiple cards. you can get it for 13k here,
You can order through newegg at 115$. I also found that it is difficult to find a cheap lga1150 processor here in india, so order it too from newegg for 60$.

Before you invest you need to look for ROI..
i myself invested around 1 Lakh with
2 R9 280x costing 55 K
PSU  12 K
RAM 8 GB  6 K
motherboard 11 K
processor +5 K
and some extras
currently earning in Rs. terms approx only 400 per day..that comes to 12 k per months...
So you need atleast 8 months to get back what you have invested ...And then you have revenue per day going down with asics coming down the line...

so unless you gamer and looking to play games also i do not seems its a good idea.

Better buy bitcoins when price is down by the year end it can go to 60,000 for 1 BTC which is now 36,000

anyone have better ideas??? i would like to hear myself also

Try mining newly released alt coins.
I usually do that as right now I only have about 1mhash and easily make around 0.06 btc in 2 days or so.

Buying GPUs for mining now at current situation is way too risky, Atleaste IMHO.

you can mine and later sell them but there is no guarantee abt the price... then there are multicoin pools who will take the juice out of a new coin and crash them harder..

Yeah but some times you get lucky. For example when pandacoin first launched I mined it with only 640khash for 1 day and as soon as it hit an exchange I sold them for 0.08 btc.

So 0.08 btc in 1 day on 640khash is pretty good.
But these chances don't always come along so I usually stick with multipool and invest a little bit in pbmining.

Yes

I haven't looked closely in these Scrypt Asics, but I remember what happened last year when ASICs came out, GPUs became immediately redundant for mining BTCs, and even the first few generation of ASICs couldn't give ROI.

I would personally hold of and see how the impact is before investing a large amount. It may actually be more beneficial to invest the money in buying coins directly instead of mining.
