There's a good reason for the price being 162 (157 as I type).  Are you willing to back your judgment against everyone else?

Basically the market is saying, even if MtGox comes back, its done with it.  It is an ex-exchange, it is pining for fjords.

I think you should buy in at Gox.  Once you get a few BTC to spend, let me know.  I actually have fractional shares in a famous bridge I'm looking to unload for BTC.  Shares are only 1 BTC each!

Risky business. I don't trust the functioning exchanges.

I think we should avoid mt gox for the rest of our lives and just forget about their scam as the foundation isn't doing any thing and Mark is trying to relaunch mt gox to do this again.

What could the foundation do? Harsh words?

If everyone was jumping off a bridge (which is currently up for sale by bitcoinminer), would you follow?

Gox may or may not return to it's normal kind-of-functioning state, do you really have enough money to take that gamble? If so, go for it. But understand, it's a gamble at this point. Don't bet what you can't afford to completely lose.

Here is a fact. As of right now, you can not convert Gox Bitcoin IOUs into actual Bitcoins. That's why they are priced much lower than other Bitcoin IOUs which you can convert into actual Bitcoins.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

There is nothing wrong with greed. It's stupidity that kills.

I'm greedy. I want more money. I'm not stupid enough to gamble what I do have on a dysfunctional exchange.

at 162 its a good price at the current risk.

i'd value gox btc @ $400 currently, around 70% sure they will be fine... everyone notable in the industry has said they will be back so unless they are all in on it?

You may very well be right on the ball.

I will remain unbiased regarding MtGox and possible insolvency - there's been plenty of thoughts posted on this forum.

It's up to you - So just be careful brother (Don't bet the house on it!)

If you have a verified account with MtGox you can deposit fiat via OKPay (turnaround is ~8Hrs)

If you don't have a verified account MtGox you can go here: https://www.bitcoinbuilder.com/    that's bitcoinbuilder . c o m (turnaround 1/2Hr + 3 confirmations)

Have a good read of the FAQ's before you register. The Developer Josh is a Decent and Good man, he's just giving folks to opportunity to get into/out of Gox.

Also on the bottom of the FAQ's he has posted some links to honorable charities, so if you make a profit - Give a Bit Back  : )

Actually if I already had USD at MtGox, I would buy Bitcoins at this price.
But sending new USD to MtGox, nope

Well, than you're not extremely greedy. Extreme greed makes people extremely stupid. I want to profit, too, but I would never wait for huge easy profit. I'd rather make 4 sure bets of 25% each than one long short expecting 200-400% profit. So, maybe greed is okay, but pathological greed is not. Cheesy

My pleasure, know how you are felling - I registered yesterday and took me a good while to decide.

Basically, only put in what you don't mind potentially losing - remember you can always convert your acquired GOX BTC for Real BTC if we get some more bad/official news.

The great charity links are under the section: Seriously, can I tip you or something?

When you will want either of them really really hard because of realiable news, it will be too late - empty order book on one side.  Wink

Good point & very wise Morefun - the developer Josh does not assume any responsibility nor insurance. It's very risky!!! The margin is great on Gox and I invested a little because I don't think we will get this opportunity for some time. Totally agree with you though : )

Would take too long till the cash is there. Sending 1000 bucks would be really worth a risk. Makes 6 coins.
