Is there any way i can setup and run my 32GH/s block erupter cube on my macbook pro? All my research is telling me it can't be done. Just wanted some last opinions before i have to go out and get hold of something cheap running windows.
Thanks for any advise you can share.
It's simple to use via your Mac. Don't listen to the rather ridiculous (sorry) idea of running Windows emulators and don't entertain buying a new system with Windows on it! lol
Download and build from source the latest Bfgminer. There are plenty of help threads for setting up Bfgminer config file. To allow the cube to mine without a stratum mining proxy, simply run Bfgminer to your chosen pool, with the --http-port <port> option enabled. Then point your Cube to the local IP of your Mac using the port you specified. Hey presto your miner will now mine on your pool via Bfgminer on your Mac.
If you wan't a lower power consuming set up, I would advise perhaps buying a Raspberry Pi and either setting up the stratum mining proxy such as
Slush's, then connect via the Pi instead of your Mac which would draw more power (and lets face it, would you rather leave your expensive Mac on 24/7 or a inexpensive RPi?) Or you can run Bfgminer on the Pi and mine that way like above. Just point the miner to the Pi instead ion that case.
