As was expected with 1GH having 70% of nethash, a fork has occurred.

Looks like we have one at chain 52465 and 11.8 THS and another 5 THs and block 52404.

I just had a wallet's coins vaporize on resync between the two LOL....

The other chain is why the hashrate has instantly dropped from 16 THS to 11 THS in less than 10 minutes.

I highly suspect that 1GH is on a different chain from all other pools.

Have fun as this is going to be hilarious to watch unfold and people's MAX just vaporize..

~BCX~

I won't lie...I've been rooting for that coin to fail since its joke of a launch.

This won't kill it, but it'll still be fun to watch Tongue

Depends on which fork they are on.

If the one you use is not on the 1GH fork, your coins will evaporate when the chains merge.

If you are smart, dump your MAX into BTC and sit on it or transfer to your own wallet.

~BCX~

Well, I have none, but if this precipitates a massive dump, maybe I should by some very cheap, but at the risk of buying non-existing coins.  Cheesy

Maxcoin devs were so amateur. Do they even know what to do in a fork?

If true 1gh should be considered the degenerate chain. They and the people that continue to mine there should suffer the consequences of their hubris.

That's not how this works, biggest chain IS the official chain.

1GH for all effective purposes owns Maxcoin.

This chain is terminal unless the devs do something soon.

Oh I know how it works but that doesn't change what I think should happen. Wink

I've seen no evidence of a fork. All services appear to be running the same blockchain. The block he says the fork happened can be seen below.

Max appears to be the least scammy coin launched in recent times.  The pump at the beginning was due to people being unable to use the command line in order to generate currency.  The only option was to buy even though the self mining process was about as easy as you could get.
