Looks same to me. If they are down permanently, it is very bad news in bitcoin market.

I heard in the Swiss Radio (SRF3), GOX is death! That's a bad news for Bitcoin!

it is a bad news just for gox users, not for all BTC users.

BTC is a decentralized crypto-currency and if just one node or one wallet is disconnected from the network, all the other wallets will continue to work fine.

My personal wallet is working fine, even if mtgox site is down/dead (R.I.P.), so sincerely I don't care if mtgox is dead (R.I.P).

it is a bad news just for gox users.

Even though I lost some funds at gox (used them to withdraw euro) I'm quite glad if we are finally rid of them, probably increased the value more of my remaining btc in the long run than what I lost@gox.

Sure it's horrible that some people have potentially lost their whole life savings, but they cant solely blame gox/Mark for that.

Dear MtGox Customers,

As there is a lot of speculation regarding MtGox and its future, I would like to use this opportunity to reassure everyone that I am still in Japan, and working very hard with the support of different parties to find a solution to our recent issues.

Furthermore I would like to kindly ask that people refrain from asking questions to our staff: they have been instructed not to give any response or information. Please visit this page for further announcements and updates.

Sincerely,
Mark Karpeles

Dear MtGox Customers,

In light of recent news reports and the potential repercussions on MtGox's operations and the market, a decision was taken to close all transactions for the time being in order to protect the site and our users. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will react accordingly.

Best regards,
MtGox Team"

hope site opens back and people relax...

I think this is very bad for BTC as it appears that the currency is extremely dangerous to use in the eyes of regulators, un-informed legislators, and spectators.
