i dont get it, isnt the coin supply actually 1200000000? That would give solid 0.95833333333% premine.

Total coin supply is at the end of ~ 84 years. For the first 3 months that 11.5 Million COIN accounts for 8% of the total coins that will be released within that time frame.

Interesting way to calculate premine

block  < 131487: 1000 COIN
            131,487,000 < - 1200000000/131487000 = 9.12637751% Total Coin Mined in first 3 months.
block  < 262974:   900 COIN  // six months
            262974-131487 = 131487 Blocks again. <--- = 131487*900 = 118,338,300+131,487,000 = 249,825,300 = < 18% of the total coins are mined within 6 months.

block  < 394461:   800 COIN
block  < 525948:   700 COIN  // one year
block  < 657435:   600 COIN
block  < 788922:   500 COIN
block  < 920409:   400 COIN
block < 1051896:   300 COIN  // two years

You're saying DOGE's total supply is 50% mined after the first time, which also means the premined coins at that point then will have much lesser weightage.. Essentially you just agreed with KaozTiposta .

I don't really support pointless arguing, and will not get into one..
but..

It's a common issue with every single coin that is premined. There is no real solution to avoid it. There is so much coins that will have more than 20% premine in first year! even high valued ones.. I'll not name it, don't want to start pointless arguments.
After 4.5 years there is not much coins to mine, it's more like encouragement for miners not to mine just for transaction fees.

I'll not force no one to mine or support Coin, but I'll appreciate every miner, every supporter, every trader and even every lurker!
Coin is created to provide alternative for everyone who is looking for one. No hype, no hysteria, no massive GPU farms mining coin from very start.
Slow and steady grow of the network, lots of hashes on decentralized P2Pools, block explorer, pools, even the guy who translated ANN post to chinese.. It all shows people are recognizing Coin as valuable alternative.

the premine is less than 1% it will be spent on bounties and giveaways. as well on general marketing purposes.

Stop talking about how unfair the world is. You all are dealing with crypto currencies because it is the right moment in a million years to become rich (or at least try to). There is no fair way to become rich. Be honest with yourself. Every fork is primariliy an opportunity for its developers and contributors to become rich. One may wrap its fork to any philosophy (AISC-resistance, PoS, different hash algorithms, etc.) but in the very core every fork is just a try to become rich fast - an opportunity for its developers and contributors including miners who join the fork in the very beginning. If you feel that this is a long term coin - just join and mine. If you feel that this coin has no future - just leave. If you feel that someone is cheating you with numbers and percents - go and work as a cashier selling hamburgers. Accept the reality, do not complain, look for opportunities and get your luck.

Just to be clear, I don't see the issue with the premine actually. If we were to calculate every other alt coin this way most of the premines will account for a huge % of the actual supply within the first few months anyway .

I like fun discussions, but the number of people screaming "scam" at every coin is just stupid nowadays. If you don't believe in the coin just don't mine it and leave, that's the best thing you can do .
