Man, how do you accidentally lose three-quarter million bitcoins and not notice. It's like sleeping through Hiroshima and not noticing anything different when you wake up.
I think Mark is still sleeping, dreaming.

Maybe not thief, just incompetent. No proof, that it was he who stole bitcoins.
It's really hard to say which scenario is more believable.
You have two scenarios:
A team which has only one job, being the middle man in transaction and securing the funds to be blind for several years while money was being stolen by a hack.
or
Mark took stole all the coins and ran away.

This title is correct, and I'll support it anytime.

I'm pretty sure there was no "team". All along it's just been Mark, with his only employees being AML and customer support staff.

And staying quiet about it, lying about radiation, feeding customers irradiated shitcoins, etc...

The title is inaccurate no matter what is going on with MtGox, because if anything, MtGox is insolvent, not bankrupt.

Being on the run, i.e. living in fear, is not fun. Not even for an anonymous darknet marketplace admin would it be fun, when the chances of being found are minimal. For Karpeles, if indeed MtGox is insolvent due to theft, it makes more sense to be honest about what happened and declare bankruptcy.

If you're a cockroach...

FACT: There were hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths by December 2020 due to the censorship of all effective treatments (most notably ivermectin) in order to obtain EUA for experimental GT spike protein injections despite spike bioweaponization patents going back about a decade, and the manufacturers have 100% legal immunity despite long criminal histories.

MTGOX.COM

LOL

Quote
Dear MtGox Customers,

In light of recent news reports and the potential repercussions on MtGox's operations and the market, a decision was taken to close all transactions for the time being in order to protect the site and our users. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will react accordingly.

Best regards,
MtGox Team

What the hell does any of this have to do with their inability to enable withdrawals?

What "situation"? The fact that they lost customer funds?

TRANSLATION: "Hmm let's monitor the fact that we lost people's money and see if the money somehow magically reappears!"

well that is a fact... but question is: whether they will be prosecuted for their actions. I think he should be brought to justice.

I had a few people email me today about Gox failing. I think the general sentiment is that whoever put their money into Gox and pretend currencies is an idiot that deserves to be robbed blind by the other idiots that were in control of the pretend money.

Don't lose sleep over your stupid decision to leave money in the hands of Mark Karpeles. We all make bad decisions. I lost 4 btc in Gox. Oh well.

You don't just accidentally lose 750k BTC over the course of several years without noticing anything wrong. Mark knew.

I can't seem to find any official press about this. This could be a hoax.

Also Gox.com the website is register by Mark on the 24-2-2014

it is very sensible to put the japan context into your comparison.

I, like any reasonable person would, had most of my Bitcoin in several cold storage wallets.  But I did have Bitcoins, not an insubstantial amount, on several exchanges including MtGox.  I also saw a nice lawyer lady today.  I also took all my Bitcoins out of every exchange.  You should too.

Stop trading, folks.  If Mark can get away with this then so can anyone else.
