Noobie here, so please be gentle Smiley

I try to do all my own research and trouble shooting before posting.  I've search the forums and Google, but to no avail.  Here's the deal...

Built an 8 GPU rig over the last 2 nights.  Had issues with the risers I chose and power supplies, so only have 5 online so far.  Starting with Nicehash as I'm learning.

All 5 cards appear in the AMD software and I changed the configuration to "compute" from graphics.  No overclocking as of yet because I wanted to get a baseline.

All 5 cards appear in the Nicehash application and I benchmarked all 5.  The rig starts hashing and Claymore "sees" 5 cards.  However, once the logs start rolling, it appears that only 1 card is hashing. Physically, only one card's fans are running too, so seems to validate the concern.  The one card seems to be doing well and hitting jobs pretty regularly, but what am I missing to get the other 5 running?

Thanks in advance for the guidance!

Add more of virtual memory ram so it can hash properly. Also about bios mod if you need anything I can help and guide you.

Ok.  Back home and grabbed screen shot.  Let me know if there is additional information that would be helpful.  And to confirm, virtual memory had already been bumped to 16.

its a bit weird

try other miners like claymore just to check if its really the app who is causing a fuss

you could point your mining pool to nicehash if you really like them

its a bit easy configuring it go check it out

I have 8GB system ram. Virtual is set to 16.  Can I go higher? What would you recommend?

I think i know what;s the problem.. maybe.. have you benchmarked all gpus before start mining ? Smiley benchmark is like mandatory for each GPU..

I did benchmark when I had the first card up and running as I wanted to test everything to ensure it was working.  Once I got the 4 additional cards set up, I re-ran all the benchmarking.  It took a long time, so I assumed it processed all 5 cards.  And the app does see 5 cards, but only seems to mine with the 1.  It's very strange.

In such cases you need to isolate your error. What I do when I have such cases when fixing mining rigs for people that ask for help, I immediately try another miner, in this case I suggest you the Winminer and see if the strange behaviour continues. If it still does in Winminer, probably you need to use DDU, uninstall all your drivers, and install the Blockchain beta drivers, it is far more stable for mining, the downside though is it only supports 8 cards. Let me know how things were with Winminer, and let's see what we can do to fix it further in case you can't.

adwebinc I believe the issue is a quite simple one... Just make sure all the GPUs are marked in the settings. See the image below.

Also, Increase your Virtual Ram By following these steps.

1) Right click "This Pc" or My Computer
2) Click "Advanced System Settings" in the left tab.
3) Goto "Advanced"
4) In the "Performance" section click "Settings".
5) Goto "Advanced" and Click "Change" in the virtual Memory Section.
6) Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all devices".
7) Select a drive with enough space.
7) Then click on "Custom Size"
8 ) Set the "Initial Size" to this formula.

(Amount of VRAM each card has * Number of cards) + Amount of Ram your pc has.

e.g for 5 x 8GB cards and 16 GB ram.

(8192 MB * 5) + 16384 = 57344 MB

You should set whatever the value you get in both "Initial Size" and "Maximum Size".

Click "Set" then "Ok", Click "Apply" and Click "Ok" again. Afterwards, it will ask you to restart your system. Restart your system and it should resolve your issue.

Also, tell me this. When your system is booting up. Are the fans of your GPUs spinning? And do they all stop spinning when the window is finally booted up?

I would set virtual ram to more...You can copy/paste benchmarks to other gpus, in settings I think.

#awesome - thank you for this.  First, your formula for virtual memory is great.  I was just running 16 which was way low for an 8 card rig.  Second, when I started started the nicehash software, all the boxes were checked.  Started mining and the boxes "disappear".  Stopped mining and all but one of the boxes was UNCHECKED!!  Re-checked them all and I am mining on all cards!

Thanks again for the awesome guidance!
