Liability reasons as well as common sense. Most of the time you are welcome to be mean to whoever you want, within reason of course. As long as it doesnt become harrassment. Death threats are not acceptable at any time. And I mean real death threats such as what the OP is about. Someone saying that you are so annoying that they want to strangle someone is an expression not a real death threat.
