My rig detects the wifi adapter that I am using (D link dwa 131)in the network manager, but when I try to get on to the web browser, it is saying there is now internet connection. Currently running Ubuntu 12.04. Would installing wicd help this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Pshaw, I've had 12 out of of my 30 rigs on wireless connections before and it really didn't change the stats too much, just a few more stales.  But I was able to space them further apart and keep them cooler.

To OP, sorry I've now well versed in Linux network diagnostics.
