There are dozens of threads about Yobit here in Bitcointalk, some of them dating back to 2015. They had started a popular signature campaign a few years back, but that campaign was nuked by the moderators. And it surprises me that people continue to use that exchange, despite numerous complaints about their services. You can be sure that this thread means nothing to them, their reputation on this forum is so bad that they could not fix it in the next 100 years, even if they intend to do so. I don't think they really know how to help you, even if they want to - because it's not a procedure anyone can do, and it always seemed to me that there was only one person pulling the strings when it came to that exchange. I'm sure he doesn't even think about it, because you're probably just one of the thousands of others who have a similar problem.

Still, maybe a miracle happens and one day you get your 10 ETH back.

And "they" will continue to do so. Unfortunately for you (and your issue), there is nothing you can do besides to keep sending them a ton of e-mails. If you could stand any chance, will definitely don't be after 4 years and not with this "exchange", as others mention a long time now. This is advice that most will agree with given that we are well aware of the reputation of this crypto exchange - but there is always a small chance that something positive will happen and that this story will end happily for the OP. By this, I mean the possibility that the exchange may get a new owner or that the authorities may in some way force them to start working more honestly and transparently.

It may not be big money for someone, but I wouldn’t give up on the $20 000 so easily right now - and I’m glad to see people struggling for years for some goal, no matter how impossible something seemed.

I will agree with you that it's great to see people keeping their hopes alive and their faith accordingly but we have to be realistic as well.
The possibility of someone that will take ownership of Yobit and make things the right way, doesn't affect OP. I can't imagine someone accepting the faults, the debts, the wrong deposits, etc of a more than shady exchange and pay for it!
As for the authorities, it seems that they don't give a single cent about how Yobit works. I'm not sure in which country Yobit operates (I think it's still in Russia) and under what umbrella but it's been years that they do what they do and they still operate untouched. So realistically and for this specific case, as OP describe it, you need to move on.

Look, unless you can find out where they are located, what their address & company rego is, you're not seeing your money.

They essentially have complete control over the private keys and as you said, it's up to them to sweep the funds out of the ETC wallet.

They have absolutely no incentive to do so. They don't have a brand reputation to begin with so they don't have anything to lose, and they know that you don't have any other avenues of contacting them unless you somehow magically track them down IRL (which is pretty much impossible since people have been trying to do it for years now).

Just expect the worst and hope for the best. All you can do.

I haven't read YoBit's terms and conditions but it is most likely that the exchange does not own responsibility over their users' fault in sending coins or tokens to the wrong blockchain.

While it could be recovered, it probably falls on the platform's sole discretion whether to attempt to recover it or not.

10 ETH is a significant amount but I guess it is not worthy to start a costly legal process considering, first and foremost, that the fault itself is coming from the user. So I guess OP should just continue communicating with the site but expect less.

Regardless of the cost of lawyer. This issue will never be solve since no one knows Yobit and where they are located. There's also a note that sending wrong token to the specific address will result to loss and lastly Yobit current reputation is worst than 2018 which this issue happened.

@OP, Just lock this thread and move on. Everyone here knows Yobit is a shady exchange.

If only the support of the exchange is going to take an effort to give proper assistance to its clients, after all, they do have the ETH chain in the exchange.

Likewise you or anyone else for that matter can not forget such amount, 10 eth at this time is huge amount for an exchange to take from a user and still feel cool about it, the support are not giving proper response not because they can't do so but because they don't want to do so since they are only interested in scamming users, if they have any little concern for their reputation ^{which by way is already tarnished} they will try their possible best to rectify the situation, i guess this is the reason why the forum always emphasize yobit should be avoided.

Was surprised that this had been bumped again by OP which had been still minding about this problem and its been a couple of years already for this issue and he wasnt still able to move on?

For sure this had been a very stressful one or does simply he had just remembered out these funds on some point and now trying to re-open it again.Its true that Yobit is a shit exchange that
doesnt really reply on any tickets that users do make out and simply ignoring even how many times you are trying to contact them.This is a common behavior of yobit
on which they've been known for.

this is very bad, it's heart touching seeing that such funds was stolen from you without any refund. you have to be very careful with all this exchanger as most of them are not trusted.

I deposited 4 ETH to the wrong wallet back in 2017 and Yobit never responded to my support tickets. Well fast forward to 2023. I submitted another ticket and got a response within literally like 30 minutes from the admin refusing to credit me the funds. They are thieves. Evil evil evil. Almost $7.000 locked up.
 
Here's the bastards response below. They call it a security issue. I'm so furious. These people are creeps and so evil, so wicked. I wanted to share this for anyone still holding out hope.
