That's absurd. Explain to me how else I am gonna buy an aircraft carrier this year if the revolution is delayed. And then what would happen to the forceful takeover of the Bahamas? Obviously a delay is not an option. Think before you write, please.

I suggest investing in a lemonade stand in your district

Quote
Perfect Lemonade

Prep time: 10 minutesYield: Serves 6.
Add to shopping list
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
1 cup lemon juice
3 to 4 cups cold water (to dilute)
METHOD
1 Make simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is dissolved completely.

2 While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice.

3 Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add 3 to 4 cups of cold water, more or less to the desired strength. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes. If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more straight lemon juice to it.

Serve with ice, sliced lemons.

Based on your bitcoin prediction, lemonade stands are not going to be a smart investment move in 2014...

Yeah spam bots alert.

20 years is a long time. I mean 20 years back the internet was in a very primordial shape and look at it now. I am sure Bitcoin will grow much faster because of the network effect.

It is reasonable to think the ecurrency would follow an adoption curve such as etransactions...if not that of facebook, twitter or tumbler.

Reminds me of something in the early days of the internet, when lawyers fretted about valid on line transactions because of their concerns about valid esignatures.

Now they've pretty much forgotten about that, primarily because they got swept aside with the tide.

What if the 'Bitcoin Revolution' actually takes 20 years to happen... instead of happening this year (2014) ?

What if it never happens? It probably wont. Why? Because people. If people had any sense there would be revolutions daily. People don't know what's good for them and they would just like to get on with their miserable lives without any fuss as long as nobody bothers them.

What if the 'Bitcoin Revolution' actually takes 20 years to happen... instead of happening this year (2014) ?

Seriously, look at your friends, the people you meet in the streets, and those you don't meet that are busy working. Are those people into Bitcoin ? No. Will they be at the end of 2014 ? No. At the end of 2015 ? Most likely not.

Which journalist said BtC value would be 400$ for most of 2014 ? Well.... its just about to happen.

Some people in this community definitely need a reality check.

well.. when i come in the BTC world I thought I was the only one in my city... but after few months I have seen a lot more people use btc than you can imagine...

I think you are mostly right, but of course the 20 years is debateble.

I just spent the last 9 months travelling central america with my husband and there are a ton of people not ready for bitcoin. 97% of the population has non smart phones but as the richer countries continue to buy new phones every two years, I imagine that a number of people who use regular phones here will jump to the smart phones as they come in cheaply from the US and elsewhere. No one knew about bitcoin as I talked to people, except a few knew what it was and nothing more.

My guess is closer to 5-7 years before the essence of bitcoin permeates non english speaking cultures in a way that the a sizeable minority of people are using bitcoin instead of fiat.

I find this to be very true. People tend to act docile and repeat the same tasks each day, doing their best to not "disturb" anything. This culture doesn't translate well for revolutions. Knowing how fast trends spread on the internet though, I think 20 years is an overestimate.

You didn't ask&answer about 2016. But don't do it now please. Wait for 10 months. I'm curious about your reality check then. So many things are happening (sadly not all good) that one can easily miss the big picture. I'm doing my reality check daily as best as I can and it looks good for Bitcoin/cryptocurrency. Think that in two years each big city will have a few Bitcoin ATM's and most important merchants will accept Bitcoins.

~14 months ago BTC was under $20 and had never been over $33.
It's been an amazing year and it's really hard to predict what will happen next.
The Winkie twins could have a big impact, or we might slowly bounce lower, or something surprisingly good might pop up.
