I remember when Silk Road was closed BTC price plummeted sharply but then restored quickly and started new growth cycle. This time might be the same.
MtGox generated mostly negative news background so damaged Bitcoin reputation, therefore I think now BTC price will be freed from this deterrent factor and can reach new all-time high soon!

The question is whether MTGox is going to close or not. It has more life's than a damn cat  Roll Eyes

(Of course, if it finally closes as it seems, it will be good for long term!)

The cancer has been removed. The surgery was painful but the patient will recover.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

I agree. As long as bitcoin survives in the short term, the demise of MTGox is definitely a good thing.

I really hope it sticks this time.  Gox has caused so many problems.  Sorry for all those that lost.

Bitcoin will often do the exact opposite of what you think it will do.
