Willing to pay 7.5% of highest exchange rate (coinbase, stamp, btc-e) via escrow. The escrow would only be contingent on verification of the account holdings and transfer, not based on the ability to withdraw or gox being able to pay back the coins.  All that would have to happen is that the site would come back up and transfer the coins.  I would pay all escrow fees.

I realize this is a pretty low rate, but, its my offer.  Anyone interested?

How exactly can you buy if the site is down?

How do you know someone transferred you  the coins?

I'd say 7.5% is actually way too high.

Recommended Exchanges: Binance.com | CelsiusNetwork

The coins would go into escrow until the site came up and we could verify the coins.

The Gox Coins.  I am not going to pay for the coins if Gox never comes back up.  The point is, I imagine that there will be a large haircut on whatever coins are held there... I don't believe they lost 750k coins though, so I would be willing to bet the haircut will be less then 92.5%.

I understand your gamble, but how can one who has mtgox coins put them in escrow if he cant acccess them.
Are you suggesting somebody should put viable btc in escrow for the possibility of later exchanging one gox coin for 0.075 real btc?

At that price they might as well ride out gox demise and if it ever comes back great, if not salvaging 7.5% of ones funds doesnt seem like a bigndeal.

I don't think this is mechanically feasible at this point.

I am a bit confused on how this works.  Is there a timeframe on the escrow?  say 1 week/ 1 month / 1 year from now mtgox.com still blank and no one can login let alone transfer anything what happens to your proposed trade?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I will put MY free coins in escrow, to be released as soon as they can be transferred to me WITHIN mtgox...

Would really like to know if such a threat would actually happen?

If you are going to wait for the GOX coin holder to actually be able to retrieve his coins from GOX and trade then with you then why would anyone do that?
I mean if someone is able to retrieve his coinds from GOX then they are just plain good coins, why trade them with you for 7.5% their value? it makes no sense.

This can only be appealing if what you are offering is the risk. Say I have 50 BTC in GOX but I can't retrieve them. Say that I think I won't be able to retrieve them and you offer is to buy my gox account for a certain amount of BTC, then that's somewhat attractive.
