What could be the next decentralized altcoin that might be a medium of exchange?

Bitcoin is great! it will be the next digital gold (gold 2.0) a great store of value with only 21M coins.

But when will the revolution reach the medium of exchange sector?

When will a cryptocurrency replace FIAT?

What is needed in order for that to happen? some ppl say LN (lightning network) will help, and that the issue is scalability.

I think it is in the monetary system. people will prefer to HODL the BTC, and use the USD to buy stuff.

It is pretty obvious that Ethereum woul be the next decentralized Altcoin that might be a nedium of exchange because of it's outstanding performance. Some people say EOS, Litecoin or for me it could possibly be Dash but there a lot of coins out there to compete each other so watchout. I don't think central banks allow crypto to dominate fiat money. Yeah Hold BTC as an investment and fiat for our daily needs.

Bitcoin is more popular in crypto market. it is made by advance technology. it will make more profit for investor thats why people are more interested to invest here. but it is following liquidity that's why anything can happen.it will take place if revaluation here. i think bitcoin will turn around.

I don't think Bitcoin needs to replace fiat money. I believe Bitcoin and Fiat money can run side by side for a better economic system. Bitcoin is an asset and it is the future to the digital transaction system.

Zilliqa and EOS are doing really good among other Altcoins in the market. Zilliqa has come up with sharding technology which is being widely appreciated by the investors. However, I don't think cryptos will ever replace fiat currency, it might become a substitute of fiat like mastercard and visa card. But without mass adoption, it would be very hard reach the popularity of fiat.
