No problem because bitcoin has a good value, using energy to serve the market is good.

as long as we don't do mining and only invest and trade,
it's not a problem and doesn't consume much energy, there are still many ways to get bitcoin without having to spend a lot of energy.

I think bitcoin uses is energetic but i don't know is it too much energy or not. Bitcoin is a global digital currency. Most of people are using or involved with bitcoin. It is a more profitable coin than others. It is very easy to use and exchange. That's why i think it is energetic for me.

Save any unexpected events like 100.000s coins being thrown on the market I think anticipation and or effect of bakkt might push the price another 1-2k at the end of the year until it flattens again to 6-7kish territory, maybe even lower in early 2019 (chinese new year theory).

At the same time I feel a lot of people are sitting on the fence waiting if price will ever drop to 3-5k territory again so that they can jump in buying whole coins once more.

Then sometime between 2019-2021 in anticipation or effect of the halving the next bull run will go off in the stratosphere of around 100k per coin, plus minus.

This profound ta is based on a feeling in my balls which I will never eat on live television, no matter the price of bitcoin, or bircoin.

Unless we get some serious new adoption like Amazon or Walmart accepting Bitcoin, it's gonna be hard to have another fomo bull run until we get closer to the next halvening. We're probably gonna have some good stuff like Bakkt propelling Bitcoin into maybe $8-9k. But psychologically it's always hard for a market to jump back in that soon after a major crash and major bear market. There's always a long period of caution and cold feet by the general public.

To ensure that coins cannot be minted too quickly, as the overall network’s computational power increases, the bitcoin protocol continually makes it harder to find a putative solution. Every 2016 blocks (roughly every two weeks), the system is recalibrated.

It does use as much it does to mine gold. Cheesy

Yet mineral rich countries continue to do it and use a hell of a lot more energy and resources to do it.
Not to mention destroying the landscape while doing it. Undecided

Judging that bitcoin is very little left to make all the coins, so at the moment it takes more energy to extract.

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/7xmvbq/bitcoin-energy-science-world-electricity-demand

Now Motherboard is not the best source for news, but let's consider the implications of this...

Consuming immense amounts of energy is actually somewhat counterproductive if we consider the vision of Bitcoin giving us tools for independence. And it's somewhat unethical because we should not be using more than we need on this earth.

However, we don't really know how much energy it is consuming at this stage, so this could just be another reporter trying to find a story.
We can't measure exactly how much energy Bitcoin consumes

I agree with you "we should not use more than we need on this earth". And the improvement of bitcoin is growing so fast, obviously it is consuming much more energy. In other hand, we cannot avoid the improvement of bitcoin. Therefore, it needs for any authority or stakeholder to create and make a regulation about bitcoin and blockchain technology. Hopefully, it will be better and minimize the energy usage of it. Recently, we have never seen that government or any authority that concern about it. It always seems that all government against and avoid it. It will be more awesome creating a regulation rather than ban and against bitcoin.

Mining gold wastes a lot energy and ressources. Yet we accept it.
The entire banking system needs huge amounts of energy. Yet we accept it.
People are wasting energy in a large scale. Still we accept it.

What is different when Bitcoin uses energy to support a decentralized network?
No do not generalize the people or every country around the world because most of the develop countries had created some advocacy on conserving energy. They are working on and advising the third world or developing countries to conserve however these develop countries are hypocrite since they are not following their advocacy imposed on the third world countries and for that those countries are wasting so much energy.

Some consider the energy waste caused by bitcoin mining as significant in the world when there are so many other energy wasting work done in the world such as light polution, and other major areas but bitcoin mining causing energy waste is shown frequently through media and other sources which I think due to lack of understanding about the good that it does to the world and its people
