I like this coin, I will mine it, the only thing might stop me is the pool, if the pool wasn't available from first second then ill pass

Read OP.
yea I did read it, what about it? many coins got pools and pre-registration, but the pools don't launch right when the wallet get released, its launch 10 to 30 minutes after it ,,, which its something I hate the most.

Not the best for the 'little guy' out of the gate, but safer for the health of the coin because soloing first provides a stable blockchain less likely to fork right off the bat.
We have to do it because we are serious about this coin, that is why we are here!
happy mining

you guys are already premining so you're providing that "stable" blockchain already. I don't see that as a valid argument.

I'm confused.
For example, Copperlark - SHA3, miners for CLR coin
1. GPU: Use the modified CGMiner found here: https://github.com/eCoinSource/eCoin_GPU_Miner
2. CGminer keccak for Copperlark https://github.com/Eropi4/cgminer_keccak/releases/download/3.6.6-keccak/cgminer_366_keccak_win32.zip
3. Special reaper for SHA3 (Copperlark) http://sourceforge.net/projects/copperlarkreaper/

Maxcoin is SHA3, miner for MXC
http://maxdl.1gh.com/cgminer-windows.zip?nocache=0.9250476183369756

But miners for CLR doesn't mine Maxcoin cause CLR and Max has different SHA3.

What kind of SHA3 will be Helix ?

Can anyone help me with understanding how to set up for solo mining.. always been in pools.. never solo mined..

Pools will be up most likely in about 10 minutes after launch, as they have to build the wallet for the pool and swap some settings.
Solo special will include examples if you think you can move fast enough.

Even the "official" pool cannot be ready at launch ?

Even the "official" pool cannot be ready at launch ?

Could we call it a fair launch if it was ready before everything else?
Everybody has equal shot.

Can anyone explain why my trails with the maxcoin pool are showing shares accepted that are below the difficulty number?

Thanks dudes!

Which pool? they may have a mistake and try to use on DB for 2 pools, which can break things

Hiya Mr Helix,

Just tried one pool which is max.mycryptopool.info
now tried https://max.hashfaster.com

Same results

Seems to work but accepted shares are below the difficulty set by the pool, or that's what CGminer is reporting.
Its the Maxpool version of CG miner Im using.

Im worried that when I hit solo mining in 8pm today my cgminer isn't going to be doing its job properly

its amazing how quiet my two R9's are when mining.

Any chance someone can verify my experience themselves?

Yea I think I got the same problem. I tried Max-Hashfaster pool and some other pool and started hashing and these are the results I got: http://gyazo.com/e510e2e0a5f00203ea267029803eb10a.png

If you downloaded the one in our OP and you are using the config that is in the official pool getting started page then you should be fine

accepted shares = you are doing it right

sha 3 + r9 master race! cool quiet and efficient.

This pool is lookin good I think I will try it first! I like the DDoS protection, the last pool I mined got taken offline for 3 days Sad

Does anyone have any clue how to make my miner mine this new coin?

I am a bit noobish when it comes to mining ^.^

  • Block reward? 151 coins per block to honor the first 151 pokemon . Subsidy halves every 6 months
  • Block time? 40 seconds per block, the delay of twitch controls
  • Eleventy billion coins? No! 120,000,000 total coins ever to be mined
  • Premine? Premines are going out of style. Only a fair 0.16% premine
Premine analysis

0.0016*120,000,000 = 192,000 premined coins

151 coins per block:
192,000/151 = ~1271 blocks premined.

40 sec per block:
40*1271 = 50840sec/60/60 = 14 hours.

So within around 14 hours the collective miners will have as many coins as the dev's premine.

Seems pretty fair to me, props to the dev for not being too greedy Smiley
