I'm already in Crypto since march 2017 and made a decent amount of money to pay off my bills and some holidays.

I had a situation in my family few months ago where I received a lot of money from my dead granma.

I would like to chose ONE crypto and go "all in" with around 50k usd.

My goal is 1 year HODL and then withdraw most of it for an house or something like that.

Doing my own research I found ICON (ICX) as possible 10-20x cryptocurrency in this given timeframe.


PS: Please do not suggest unknown or shitcoins. (I know those may make a good money but I am not confident on putting so much money in these).

If you've invested in ICON at that point of time, chances are you are 70% down as of today. That's the drawback of investing in any one coin. But even if you've selected 3-4 alt coins, you'll still be down. Current year is very bearish and altcoins took the bleeding on both bitcoin rise and down. Always have a strategy to book profit or loss and never be too greedy.

now investment in ico is not the best idea, almost all ICO has fallen below the level of procurement, there are only a few projects that have made a profit. we need to wait for the market to recover

with that money, I think it is enough to allocate the money to buy bitcoin only because I am sure that he can get much of bitcoin right now. this is because of bitcoin price will start to rise in the future. and if he can buy a lot of bitcoin, then he can use it to buy another profitable coin which can give another profit to him.

In my opinion you should invest in Bitcoin because now the market price is almost at the bottom and you buy them now you will definitely be rich. I wouldn't risk that much on crypro though. 50k is a huge amount to invest in a single market even though the possibility of earning 10 to 20% is there. Probably half is enough to buy cheap in this bear market with almost all of the top alts facing decent profit once the market recovers or if a bull run starts

It is not advisable to go all in one coin. With a big sum of $50,000, it is better to diversify into a few coins and invest at different time. If you really want to go all in, Bitcoin will be a good choice.

I seriously believe you are not going to lose if you invest the $50,000 in the top 5 coins at coinmarketcap! However,  you have to hold those coins for a very long time before you can get good returned on your investments.  Many people that buy bitcoin in 2014 are testified on the amount of profits their makes in 2017.

It seems you already made your choice, there are many coins that I know and I think are good investments and there are others that I do not know and I do not know how they are going to perform in the future, but if you just were willing to hold for several years you could avoided all that additional risk by investing everything in bitcoin and getting 5x in the next years.

Another guy to invest $50K. I think this is not a good option. Because you don't know what will happen in this market. As the OP, he has invested all his money on March. Now you can see what has happened to your portfolio. If the market goes up again, then it will be ok. But just think if the market goes more and more down. Who knows what will happen.
