This was unexpected to me. I have no money on gox, in any form and I am finding all this MtGox situation quite entertaining and hilarious.
I can't really say why, but I find it very funny.
I do not consider myself a person that enjoys watching other people suffering on in any kind of trouble and usually have compassion for all sorts of victims. That pattern is clearly not holding now.
This is not trolling not irony. I can't really put the finger on it. What makes all this mtgox fiasco so entertaining?

No, this wasn't really unexpected.
Maybe you have similar feelings when people watching accidents and they are happy because all the bad things happened to someone else and not to them.

There are two things that have always been funny in every culture throughout the history of mankind. The first one is a man chasing his hat in the wind. The second is fat people falling. http://youtu.be/6sfMRclXrHo I think MtGox "falls" into the second category.

I find it a bit funny that people went back to Gox even though they caused more crashes than anyone.
All the bad signs were there but people did not pay attention.
It wasn't the WeExchange/ Jon Montrol / Ukyo scam, where everything was fine than all of a sudden 'nope, you can't take out your money'. Things were looking bad for Gox for a long time, that Kappeles guy or whatever his name is was not that competent.
But my heart does go out to folks who lost money. If it wasn't for all them I'd be REALLY celebrating Gox having left the building, it really is for the best.

I ate a lot of popcorn the last week. With a Michael Bay movie playing on the background you have the perfect music & soundFX.

Maybe you associate Mt. Gox depositors with people trying to "get rich quick" through questionable means?

@Snail2 What was unexpected to me was my reaction. Not the fact that gox became a fiasco. I find it a bit funny that people went back to Gox even though they caused more crashes than anyone.

Maybe this. I guess it is something like watching a drunk person running after a hare. How greed makes people stupid to the point of needing just a minimal (non existent) benifit to lure them into doing stupid things.

People losing money definitely isnt funny. It is an interesting chain of events (will probably be a movie, or at least an episode of "American Greed." I think the only people who find it entertaining are the ones that had no money there, and want others to fail so they can somehow feel better about themselves

I haven't money there but never wanted others to fail. Actually I always wanted to send some BTC to Gox. Unfortunately I always seen some other temptating stuff on Cryptsy, Cryptostocks, Bter and never been able to resist . Now I must admin I feel myself really good because of I never managed to send some money there .

LOL. You mean if the FBI had the coins they seized stored at MtGox?

It is kind of funny, just not hilarious. Karpeles is definitely a laughable character. He might be a sociopath or not. What isn't funny, though, is the people that lost a lot. I lost 2.13, so I don't consider myself a victim. But those guys that had tens of thousands there I feel for. Is Karpeles mentally ill? He certainly seems to be deranged or something. The Mt Gox Team

It's not funny. It's a relief to those of us who never used Gox or got out before the collapse (i'm in that group).
The emotional relief of having dodged a bullet are very much akin to joy.

I lost lots and I have called the situation "funny". But of course if you had a large majority of your coins at MtGox then yeah I could see how that is really depressing.
