You can get profit in usdt if your altcoins or bitcoin was exchanged to it during hype times then you buy back when it goes lower so when it pumps you get more usdt . I do not get the point that it seems like you are telling to invest in usdt wherein it stays in 1 usd . Trust me it wont go higher than that.

I think what he means is to sell your crypto on the exchange for USDT then buy back when the price of said crypto drops a bit more. This is actually not a bad idea. I just don't think that now is a good time for it. I think we'll start seeing a bullish market pretty soon, and that will end up making your USDT worth less in crypto if the price goes up.

USDT is always equal to a dollar. So it is logical to switch to USDT when you think the market will go down and then buy back again at the lowest price increasing the quantity while the equivalent dollar value remains the same.
