before deciding to invest in cryptocurrency you should understand what risks will be faced. you can lose money invested in cryptocurrency because everything that uses the internet network can be easily stolen by others if we cannot secure the private key that we have properly. besides, cryptocurrency price movements are very easy to change so fast, you can benefit from it if the price can increase more sharply and vice versa you could lose money that has been invested because the price movement has dropped dramatically.

I think the risk is the high volatility of the markets. You're money is safe in crypto currency since they are encrypted and unhackable depending on how you secure your wallet. Market is very volatile and it really could make you rich or not the way your expecting an investment would turn out.
so crypto market is unpredictable, i suggest you study here for a while. and start reading some thread regarding any interest you would like to invest time and money.

and some scam is considered also risk right.
ill give you quite something for example.
Ill start with Scam ICOs in which ICOs projects will invite possible investors and then just ran and take all the money earn on the ICO. and not continuing the project.
and in some countries are ponzi scheme, in which your going to invest an initial amount and promised a larger profit for a month or so. but in the end its a pure scam.

There are several risks involved with investments in cryptos;

1. Sudden price drops after purchase of coins due to high volatility.
2. Scam projects exiting with your investments in their scam ICO, money gone down the drain.
3. Wallet hacks by criminals, you lose everything with no chance of getting anything back.

You said you had already invested in crypto and why you didn't know that the risk is higher than any form of investment. The main risk is you will lose your money if you don't manage your investment property which you need knowledge in this technology.

The first risk will be the volatility of crypto is very high,  the price can be crash more than 20% just afew hours and can be going down 90% in amonth.  Second risk is hacking and fraud.  So make sure you only put money that willing to loss in cryptocurrency. But with high risk also will be offer high profit like 10 times profit just in amonth or 100 times profit just in ayears. 

So far, I want to believe volatility is actually the major risk when it comes to investing in cryptocurrency. Asides from the fact that it is a new space and a lot of development are still coming up as time goes on, it makes it a lot subjected to huge speculation, less usage for what it is and most people just seeing it more as a speculative investment than the real thing. This is one thing that has made the volatility what it is but one thing I believe would become less as we forge ahead and the market becomes more matured.
