witcoin?
Not exactly. My idea was rather of bitcoin being called "bitpoint" and presented not as a currency, but rather as a "worthless" symbolic token to reward textual contribution on any web forum.
I'm not sure how well that would work since bitcoins can be earned by mining. Thus it wouldn't work well as a way of keeping track of reputation as a person can essentially give themselves bitcoins. It might also have proven more difficult to get vendors to accept bitcoins for goods since bitcoins would be associated with work most people do not value. I have a hard enough time getting people to take bitcoins seriously when they find out the only way to get them is by doing web work and the only places accepting them are a handful of websites. If it were a forum currency then I think we'd have an even harder time of it. Just my .02btc.
