This for sure won't be happening in the next couple of years. At the moment btc is the only cryptocurrency you find present in every crypto platform and the only gate way most time to fiat. Most people only know btc its dominance drives the market

Well this is crypto and anything can happen at any time but from my own point of view, I don't see any altcoin competing with bitcoin right now and the possibility of this even happening in the future is very slim. The degree of bitcoin dominance is evrn more than half of the market.

I don't think so. BTC is the boss of all crypto. You cannot think of Blockchain or choto without BTC. So i think it is impossible for any other coin to overtake BTC.

I think what we mostly forget to appreciate is the fact that no one can accurately predict the future. Just like when btc started and many thought it would die off, so may an altcoin take us all by surprise. Altcoins were into existence just because of bitcoin. In this regard bitcoin getting overtaken by any of the altcoin isn't possible long term or short term. Altcoins have the dependence on bitcoin, so a mutual growth is possible, but an overcoming is simply hard to achieve by any of the altcoin.

why not? Any altcoin has a potential, for example ethereum is close to overtake Bitcoin.
 I don't use btc, because etherem is far better and cheap in terms of transaction fee.

No altcoins can ever replace or takeover ethereum, let alone bitcoin. BTC and ETH has made their place in the crypto world as the leaders. It’s better for those newbie projects and many other ICOs to accept the fact that bitcoin and ethereum are many miles ahead of them. Even if they surpass btc or eth it won’t be anytime soon and would take years.
