I have a few friends going in on Bitcoin. Some are mining, and losing their ass on energy.

Some are buying, and holding for the magic $100,000 mark set by Max Keiser.

To me it looks like Bitcoin is a good idea, backed by intelligent people. But it also looks like it's setup to take a fall. For maybe another digital currency to take it's place.

I write this because I don't hate on bitcoin, and I don't back it to a point where my integrity is at risk. I'm right there in the middle trying to get a better perspective or to see if people kinda feel the same way.

Also. I find it weird that the government is the largest holder of bitcoin.

Welcome to the Bitcoin community.

Before talking anything about bitcoin, please take time understanding the software.

If you are able to read code then you can review the Bitcoin source code and judge for yourself.

However , I warn you... the longer you look into Bitcoin, the more it makes sense.

And no, the government isn't the largest holder of bitcoin. You must learn more about something to filter out rumors. Do not just believe others.

So what is your motivation for writing this here?

Obviously most here are pro-bitcoin, then probably the next largest group are people who are pro-altcoin and seek to pump their current altcoin of choice. So either way, you aren't really going to get a balanced response.

Maybe if you have specific questions you might get specific answers.
