Debating mining or buying some genre coins. But I'm not sure if it's worth it. But a lot of these coins aimed at a specific audience offer nothing new technologically. So I have to ask, why this coin and not Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Dogecoin? So do you think it's worth it to mine or buy some genre coins? Right now we're in very much of a cryptocoin explosion. But I'm not sure if many of these coins will be around 2-3 years from now.

Think about it this way essentially every coin is designed for a specific audience. Some have tons of support and great communities others not so much. The skill is choosing the former before it goes viral.

I think not.
There is no value, all they have is the genre status.
The coin you should be buying should have technically the most advanced coin or if you want to diversify, take let us say "top 5 coins" and buy some of them all.

My personal ranking (and I act accordingly) the top coins are

1) WorldCoin
2) Bitcoin
3) Litecoin

However, I have 0 LTC, some BTC and a lot of WDC (and it is growing as long as the downtrend of the coin price is going on - I prefer buying when it is low instead of being expensive). When you sell, you should avoid the newbie mistake and sell too early. 20 % gains are something that happen on daily basis so do not sell when it jumps "only" 20 % up because the odds are it will go up like 50000 % from the current levels. If it does, you will regret selling too early. If you feel you like to take some profits, sell some but do not go all out too fast.
Especially if you have some technical or business talents, WDC community is something you should consider joining in and make some WDC buy contributing there along with holding the coin. Now not so many know about WDC (if I go downtown and ask them what is WDC hardly nobody knows - there is potential still left more than with the more mature coins).

If you have money it is good time to invest in Bitcoin. Price may reach $800 range very soon.

I'm pretty sure the odds are almost never in favor of "it" going up like 50000%, unless you are considering like centennial time-scales.

May the odds forever be in your favor.
