Bitcoin appeared on The Daily Show yesterday and got it's own small segment, I don't have a clip unfortunately but I'm sure someone will get one up, 2014/02/27, you can get it off piratebay, he talks about MTGOX a bit and then proceeds to mock them for committing fraud all in one go rather than systematically like long-standing financial organisations do

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Good stuff, just being on a heavily watched show like Jon Stewart as the opening segment is a compliment even if he doesn't entirely understand it. Loved the zingers like "Tamagotchi of currency", "Bitcoin grills", and "MtGox deleting tweets only to resurface as Carlos Dinero". I'll take any media exposure to the mainstream, good or bad, at this point. Can't get worst than Gox's news.

Admittedly, when I saw this, I saw it more of a neutral slant on BTC and the usual negative slant on Big Banking.
Sure there was a bit of misinformation, but as is the case for a lot of the Daily Show, that's not their primary source of news. In fact, in a study, a lot of viewers are fairly well-informed and they actually question some of the segments on a regular basis. If this effect happens with Bitcoins, in the end, I find it much more positive than negative.

It's funny as hell, have a sense of humor.
Bitcointalk is run by a bunch of humorless Deans of Economics at a variety of Ivy League institutions across the globe collectively known by the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. Hitherto, no one may laugh when discussing the Bitcoin.

I do have a sense of humour, hence why I didn't find it funny. Only airheads would find hilarity in that cheese-fest.

John Stewart is a sniveling bastard and watching his routines makes my skin crawl, sorry.
