Wood......perhaps not for some, but for the price, it works well.

To begin, I am sure everyone has seen one of these ($6-$8, Walmart etc):

These units come ready to be stacked, with dowels included.

Here is what 2 of them look like with the beginning modifications, prior to assembly:
(alternate cutting out the center shelve slats, leaving 2 slats on each end for leg support)

Here is what I invisioned when deciding to go this route (or something close):
(please forgive the horrible photoshop cut/paste job)

Obviously I will add a bit of bracing, paying particular attention to the vertical (legs) and that should pretty much do it, after a good lathering in Carpenter's Glue on every joint etc.

I currently have all mining equipment spread out, single high. I just wanted something cheap, stackable and wasn't a bitch to cool.
A couple of these will definately make my life easier....

**The final dimensions of this unit are not that far off from the average 70's style box fan.....just slide one in behind this rig once assembled.

Hope someone finds this helpful, or atleast gets ideas from it.

Exactly the kinda idea i went for with wood at first Smiley

But a metal frame is MUCH better as it doesnt store the heat as well as wood where it builds up

4x5850s with 1200W PSU's. But i think Catfishes design is the next step for me, makes sense Smiley
