Put in about $100. Knew the risk but figured it may be worth it. Whoops.

I was trying to risk a couple of hundred or so, knowing it was a big gamble, but couldn't get it in... lucky me eh?

(Did confirm that BTC-e <--> OKpay seems to be working fine, despite rumors to the contrary.)

I almost did about $400 worth but before I could decide, the site went down. Might have been a good thing now.

Horror stories ^^^

I learned as soon as I got into Bitcoin not to use Gox, but even I didn't expect total bankruptcy. I mean sure, the warning signs were there, but how does half a billion dollars disappear?! I half-expected most of you who poured money into Gox during the final days to make out like bandits.

I guess a 500% discount was too good to be true. Who'da thunk it?

Wow, a 500% discount - does that mean you pay nothing and they pay you 400% and give you coin??

Same here. I did some quick looking and it became very clear not to use them. Hence, I did not use them. Happy about it now.

I was very very tempted too, but knowing it was too risky decided against it at the last minute (litterly seconds before I pushed the enter button).  I know someone that put in $20K thinking he was going to come out with $100-200K and till thinks GOX will somehow magically return the coins.  Guess he's out of luck now.

I guess that should be more like an 85% discount... but you know what I mean!

lol, yeah Wink.
Only human to be tempted. But the risk-return ratio was way off.
The difficulty going about getting goxbtc i think saved quite a few people.

I feel sorry for those original gox customers that lost out though. Sad

so what is currently the best exchange to trade btcs on? I want to get into daytrading, but not sure what do people view as safest/most reliable exchange? I'm thinking of mixing it up on 2-3 exchanges evenly to minimize risks

I did 15K USD

I was waiting for someone to say something like this Smiley. I did 1.5K EUR. Not a big deal compared to the amount of coins already trapped in gox.

I tried to withdraw in late January and populate my paper wallet, however the tx failed and soon after they halted withdrawals. I guess I was just a couple of weeks late…

Bitcoin is a long term investment.  I recommend people who want to get into investing in Bitcoin stop using it as a day trading tool.  I realize my suggestion will be ignored en masse, but its that nonsense that contributes to the volatility and subsequent LACK OF SUCCESS of bitcoin in the world.  Not that any of you day traders give a sh*t ...

Lots of people did.

Nobody thought they'd actually have 850,000 BTC missing.
actually the market "knew", and it was obvious

Protoblock turns knowledge of American football into Fantasybit coin, a margin token used to monetize leveraged skill.
