The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Can someone explain the Rob Hubell glitter GIF thing to me?
It is from Stack-coin, an IPO scam about a week ago
Received 69.5 BTC and coin never launched. "Dev" posted that gif when time came for launch. It has since become a mainstay on IPO threads Tongue

Usually an IPO is used to fund something, development, marketing, etc.
I'm not criticizing you I would just like to better understand why you are asking for money.
Other than your direct (and continued) involvement in the market environment of this currency there does not seem to be any really new features.

Are we to assume the entire IPO fund is to be used to protect the market value of this coin?

I do have to admit that you went through the trouble of producing all these nice graphics and are receiving more flak than the more obviously scammy releases with really no professionalism to them.

Aircoin is attempting the same system all though they didn't ask for an IPO instead they went the premine route.
In my mind the IPO route is more economical and efficient because it doesn't rely on first selling the premine coins to get BTC, so that they can protect the market price. I don't support market tampering, even if it is to protect consumers/investors but I know that some people do value this approach.

You have many knee-jerk reactions here to the thought of an IPO when they clearly don't understand what it is for and why it is necessary.

I think that all though your intentions might be in the right place you went about it in a heavy handed sort of way. This is a delicate topic and one that should be handled with care. Consulting someone with marketing experience who also knows the cryptocurrency community would definitely help.

Also if you want to act as the fed you better be prepared to drop some identity info and avenues of recourse should things go south for the investors.

Naturally, there can be no "guarantees" or floor prices beyond the scope of what the IPO suckers investors are willing to hand over. And if you don't have full coverage for the 540,000 coins in the first year (as promised), and the hoped-for prices don't materialize, how will you cover the buybacks? The public exchanges surely won't care one bit about an arbitrary floor price.

Not only that, but they "guarantee" the floor will be increased over time.

They claim they will hold future fundraisers to fund the floor increase.

This is pretty much a ponzi type scheme that is not sustainable.  If done right then early investors might be able to make some money on future suckers, but I doubt even that would last long.
