Over 1 billion? You must be out of your mind.
I think it's a very small number.. like a few million at most.

A lot less today than thought they had bitcoins a month ago.
Many who left their entire bitcoin holdings sitting at MtGox are now discovering that they don't own any bitcoins after all.

The total amount of Wallets holding at least 1 bitcoin is under 250,000. However that's the amount of wallets and most people own more than 1 wallet with Bitcoin in it, take Satoshi for example, he reportedly has thousands of wallets with average 50 Bitcoin in each.
I'm guessing that their are less than 800,000 Bitcoin owners in the world, who own at least .000001 Bitcoin.

How do you know how many wallets have 1 BTC? How can you tell which wallets have which addresses in them?

How do you know how many wallets have 1 BTC? How can you tell which wallets have which addresses in them? http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/12/fbi_wallet/According to that article on wired.com there are 246,377 Bitcoin Addresses with 1 Bitcoin in them at the time of it's writing and don't forget that most users have more than 1 Bitcoin Wallet(I have 9 for example). I'm assuming they made a script to check every wallet's balances.

I'm assuming they made a script to check every wallet's balances. That's 246,377 ADDRESSES, not WALLETS. Most wallets have multiple addresses ( I have some wallets with dozens of addresses ). Many people also have multiple wallets ( I have a few blockchain.info wallets, a few dozen Bitcoin-Qt wallets, an Armory wallet, an android Bitcoin Wallet, and several paper wallets, each with their own purpose). Many of those wallets (and addresses) are empty at the moment, but they've all held bitcoins at one time or another. I generate a new address for almost every transaction. It would be very difficult for someone to figure out how many wallets, or how many addresses I control just by looking at the blockchain.

I think we are between 300k and 400k users Just check the addresses here: http://bitcoinrichlist.com/charts/bitcoin-distribution-by-address?atblock=280000As you can see there are surprinsingly few addresses with more than 0.1. If you take into account that most bitcoiners use 1 to 10 wallets (i.e I've got 5 on blockchain.info, 1 coinbase, 3 multibit, etc)... do the math

Difficult question... I think 10 wallets/person is a good medium of wallets per owner in the world, considering early and late adoptors... total adress /10=
