I was thinking if people really makes money from mining altcoins using laptop as I have tried to do so and find out that it is not really working.  For the past three months I have tried to mine graft network  with my laptops but it seemed I have not gotten upto 5000 unit. Am I   doing what is right in a wrong way?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

It's a really bad times to think to make money with mining, even with professionnal equipement
Even with best graphic card, you nearly win as much as you pay in electricity...

So you should completely forgot win money with laptop... (or maybe 0,0x $ / day is enough for you ?)

You can't expect same hashrate from laptop as you could get from dedicated GPU.
Most laptops aren't as powerful so it could be used for mining and be profitable.
You could mine some altcoins and hold the coins for a longer time and maybe it will be worth something in a few years.
But better suggestion is to buy that coin instead of mining it.
That way instead for paying electricity bills, you could invest that money in buying coins.
You won't be risking damaging your laptop and you'll have lower electricity bills   Smiley

No one is making any money mining with laptop. The reason is that laptops tend to overheat faster than desktops even in normal conditions use unless it is a very high end gaming laptop. Even if people make a few pennies by mining with their laptop, they will in a short amount of time destroy their laptop.

Mining on laptops is never recommended.

Mining on a laptop is just plain stupid.

If you want to mine, you need to buy proper equipment.

It takes money to make money.

I don’t believe that laptops can give some profit right now. It is waste of their resources. They don’t have good cooling system that’s why you will earn 1 some coin but you’ll lose 100 coins for repairing.

I think you need to explore more about mining before you continue doing it from your laptop, as you are just wasting your time and your endangering your device, better yet buying mining device and proceed with your mining activity, try doing deeper research and study the profitability make sure to compare every aspect, like what you just experience you are not gaining much not unless that coin will pumped hard after some months.

I don’t believe that laptops can be profitable for mining at all currently. Electricity costs are more than you will be able to mine with a laptop, and you may burn out your hardware easily.

it will in the long term cause damage to your laptop rather than give any return to fix if anything happens to it, you trolls need to stop the idiotic chain reaction some did by using celeron cpu which consumed way more power than any returns whatsoever and that includes igpu, laptops, mobiles and so on, get real, if you want to mine profitable then get an asic or if you dont care about profit then a gpu to learn what mining is about.

The mining things sometimes really surprise me when I hear people talking about it. However, I have not really see people making money from it. Besides, if anybody have make good or reasonable amount of money from it, let him tell us how he has done it.

Mining this days is different to mining in the early days of crypto currency cause the early day miners make use of GPU while this days miner make use of asic etc. Even not to take talk of the damage and overheating which mining with laptop will cause, mining with laptop cannot be profitable.

You would able to answer your own question. What you had find out? mining on your laptop wont really be that profitable not only earning cents but also you are just harming your own laptop if you do plan to mine further on. Better to stop it because you are just totally wasting up your time, effort and electricity.

Mining with the laptop or other devices is completely a failure. What you run will make your laptop encounter problems. Recently some form of browser based mining came into existence, but none have been that effective and provide with good return.

Nope. You won't be making much mining on a laptop as most laptops, even gaming laptops, aren't built to dissipate the 24/7 heat that comes as a result of mining, and component failures can come as a consequence of that. Keep using your laptop for work, gaming or browsing the web, and keep away from mining on them. Some laptops can dissipate heat whilst they run full steam ahead, but it's still a waste of your time, and you're better off not mining on a laptop.

If you want to mine, save money and buy an ASIC, FPGA or GPU, and build a true mining rig. There's risk involved, but it's still less than the risk of breaking a perfectly good laptop for a few dollars or less of mining revenue.

Basically the people that mined with their laptops made the most BTCs. Much more than mining with a GPU or FPGA or ASIC.

Back in 2009...2010 you could of left the Bitcoin core program running and mining in the background and each block would of net you 50BTC. Basically there was no competition then because BTC had no value.

How everybody is building the most efficient ASICs to compete to a sliver of the piece from the block reward.

People who use laptops for mining waste their resources. They receive a few cents a day, but in the end they will pay much more for repairs after overheating of components.

You could indeed make some money mining with your laptop last summer/autumn. Nobody recommended it but it could be done with even earning some easy profit doing so Cheesy. There is a real possibility of overheating your laptop.

I once benched my laptop for mining and monthly estimated profit was around 15USD so something. During the same time, my 5x R9 290 rig pulled in 500USD monthly Cheesy
