I cant imagine these go flying off the shelves at those prices. No games can take advantage of the new tech yet, founder edition cards are always hot loud pieces of junk, and the mining payback period on these things is like 2 years at best.

Are you sure about that? Looks at those clocks. 2080ti is ~30-40% lower core clock (1350 vs 1950) with only ~20% more cuda cores (4352 vs 3584).

I think this is gonna be a huge flop unless those core clocks OC over 1700...

EDIT: I misread. Thought you were comparing the ti's directly. My breakdown is of 2080ti to 1080ti for the confused.

Your pricing is incorrect.  2080ti is $999, 2080 is $699 and 2070 is $499. Of course that is retail price and not founders edition price.  Obsolete is a pretty strong word considering there are many gamers who can't just drop $500+ on a video card.  I'm sure Pascal will hang around for awhile until prices drop and inventory is exhausted.  From a gaming point of view these new cards are probably great.  For mining though, who knows.

I'd say yes for gaming. Imagine seeing enemies off reflections around the corner in battlefield 5. Pay to win to the next level.

For mining, scoop up sub $130 470/570s from liquidating miners. The 2070 is decently priced, should do about 50mh/s eth. It will be a good buy if rendertoken comes online, but RIGHT NOW it's $130 polaris cards.

For older GPU products the warranty was 3 years for the original purchaser only.
Meaning if you buy the card used off ebay, the warranty is void.

That was one of the reasons I always bought EVGA GPUS, as the 3 year warranty applied to both new and used GPUs.

We don't even know the exact mining performance of these cards yet, and I'm willing to bet that it's more cost-effective to pick up cheaper Pascal and Polaris cards for mining over these. I can't see many people mining with these even at retail pricing when Pascal is still available for cheap at the moment anyways. They may very well just keep the warranty similar to what it was for Pascal.

RTX2060 is rumored to have a 128bit memory bus, all the new RTX cards have a narrower memory bus compared to the older gen so why RTX2060 should be an exception .

RTX 2080 Ti has a 352-bit bus, same as the GTX 1080 Ti. RTX 2080 has a 256-bit bus, same for GTX 1080. RTX 2070 and GTX 1070 have a 256-bit bus as well. None of the new RTX cards have a smaller bus than their GTX 10-series counterparts.

People will likely buy any for bragging rights cause most will never use them fully, ray tracing is a new thing, so expect 3 to 5 years to make a wide use for it, people buying a rtx 2080ti to play cs go hehe, is like when they buy an iphone for $1200 for whatsapp hehe, most of them have more money than sense and most want bragging rights to say to their friends, they have the best tech hehe, even though they will never use 5% of its peak performance, it's amazing to see how idiotic many places/people of the world have become.

I'm not buying any, will wait for 7nm this or next year from amd, although i always prefer nvidia for gaming, looks like i will side with amd on this one.

Also about prices, they increased $100 on everything and a plus another $200 on the rtx 2080ti, the gtx 1080ti launch price was $699, and now $999. They are only releasing the rtx 2080ti because 12nm is already old tech, they could not release it next year since amd will release a 7nm. The crypto mining boom spoiled nvidia and now they want money and they want fast before amd releases a 7nm.

Interested in buying a 2070, my 380 did its time and I want to step up the game quite a bit. But not at 650€ that's for sure.

Nvidia is more or less like Apple and their GPUs are like the iPhone.

Every year a new model comes out with crazy high pricing and people think, nobody will buy because it's too similiar to last years model and overpriced and yet they almost always sell out.

So I am pretty sure they won't have issues moving these GPUs at these high prices.

We'll have to wait for the reviews and benchmarks and see how they fare for mining... But at these prices they are highly unlikely to make any sense for miners.

Even if a 2080Ti is 50% faster than a 1080Ti you still only make less than $2 per day at current profitability levels. That's probably about two years to get your money back factoring in electricity costs...

The only candidate might be the 2070, but even that one's likely a stretch.
