Bittrex (Back up KEY)

Hi Guys! I Lost my phone couple of weeks back with 2FA on it and i dont have my back up codes.. I've been in contact with almost every Exchange and waiting for answers but now i found a note with what i belive might be my Secret key for Bittrex. But where can i use this Key? i cant find anything on their website so im asking you guys. Please help me out

It's probably your Bittrex 2FA seed. You can import it in a 2FA app to generate the codes.

What you can do is generate a QR code with the following text format:

otpauth://totp/Bittrex?secret=YOUR-SECRET-CODE-HERE&issuer=Bittrex

And scan it into your Google Authenticator app. Then, use the code to login.

If that's a secret key then it's not necessary to generate a QR code.

1. Simply download and install Google Authenticator from App store/Play store
2. Open and just click the plus button, it will give an option of either Scan a QR code or Enter a provided key
3. Choose Enter a provided key, type your key
4. Once the key was added there will be a label, so you'll know if it's for your Bittrex account or not

I will also advice to use Authy instead of Google authenticator as this particular authenticator can help you backup your 2FA keys for all your added account fully so you can easily gain access to everything back should in case you misplace your device. It was helpful for me when I misplaced my own device.

This is a good option too (or maybe better) . I didn't know that Authy also allows entering the key manually that's why I didn't suggest it

That is not even what the dude is asking for heaven sake! Apparently, you decided to shut your eyes from reading the open page that you just type whatever you feel like.

Apparently since the OP has the 2FA back up key, he does not have any issue. All he needs is to just use the key to manually create another profile on authenticator for his bitter account. Otherwise, he may just need to rely on support helping him out by using his registered email on bittrex to request for support.

You have to contact their support or you can contact them in their social media official. Before you turn on 2 FA you should be remember to save the back up code number by write down it on the paper and keep safely. I personally write down the back up code in the 3 different paper and i keep it on the 3 different secret places in my house.

Maybe you just have to download another google authenticator app and use that code again to bring back your codes for your 2fa in Bittrex.
