Great review ! This miner is way to centralized. users have not much control over it ... If they website going to be hacked, someone can take over all the miners they ever sold  I was looking for a review like yours about this miner, but did not find any, except one on youtube before. The biggest problem i see with this miners and the other one Vosk reviewed from this company , is: they are totally centralized, basically "we" don't have any control over them, everything need to be done via they website. I see a big security risk here if a hacker taking over the website, its mean they can take over all the miners this company ever built and sold Miners should be configurable on local network independently from the manufacturer ... so if you paying 4.5k for this miner, you received and ready to use, but they website have any kind of ddos attack or its just down for a few days for any reason, you are not going to be able to start using your 4.5k miner, till they fixing they website .... You paying 4.5k , you get a nice hardware, but the company you bought from going to have a full control over your 4.5k miner :-) If the company file for bankruptcy, they website shut down, and you want to change your mining pool info, you just cant without they web services ...WTF ? I would stay away from this company at this point |

Yep, the way the interface works through the web reminds me of the 'ol Spondoolies web miner interface from a while back- hopefully there's a way to login to the miner locally, or the page can be downloaded/something of the sort in case Asicminer's site ever goes down or the company goes down. The liquid cooling seems like a bit of a hassle to buy initially if you don't already have liquid or distilled water on hand, but nice to see that it works well, and ASICminer actually has working miners. Have you considered posting this in the Bitcoin Hardware section, considering this thing's also capable of BTC mining? I'm sure the folks over there also have some things to say about this thing, considering the last time I've been there people were extremely skeptical about ASICminer as a whole. |

I really want to see more competition in the ASIC space however we can't be blind to such a serious issue that can be exploited in multiple ways (the centralized web hosting) |

Well it could be a scam.
It mines say 22th using 2100 watts
you send the hash to them they send it to your pool and tack on a bitmain s-9 super clocked to 18th there is your 40th at 2100 watts.
you pay them 4500 usd.
so if it is really 2 s9's and 1 s9 it cost them about 1500 plus 500 in parts and shipping thats a 2000 cost sold for 4500
if they have cheap power they can run you tack on s9 for 5 months using less then 500 in power. that is about a 2k profit.
in fact it could be bitmain doing it all on the downlow
which means it cost them about 1500 to build and ship it and power for 5 months is 300 cost 1800 profit sale 4500 net 2700
and everyone blames adicminer not bitmain.
or innosilicon could do it.
more likely bitmain especially if their new chip failed and their best gear is the s-9

Not a huge fan of this form factor tbh. Makes it difficult to resell especially when they have to be shipped overseas.
The low noise makes it a great home miner, but they are missing out on sales not offering a miner in the S9 form factor. A poor business decision.

Not a huge fan of this form factor tbh. Makes it difficult to resell especially when they have to be shipped overseas.
The low noise makes it a great home miner, but they are missing out on sales not offering a miner in the S9 form factor. A poor business decision.
Well if it is real. The watercooling has to be pretty big. Without the cooling setup it most likely can’t do 52.5 watts a th Or 55 watts a th. If you have 3 s9s and ten cent power. You do. 42th at 4200 watts That is 10 kwatts vs say 5 kwatts or 50 cents a day 180 a year. So 3 s9s are about 1600 a savings of 2900 So at 10 cent power in 15 years it pays for itself. Let’s say you have 20 cent power. So you save 1 dollar a day in power or 365 a year. In 7.5 years you make up the power. I am pretty sure the numbers are correct. So if it breaks you are screwed. If one s9 breaks you have two left. Also vosk tested it. First boot he was hashing only 4th. Maybe it is what the real hashrate is and the server site failed to supplement it up to 40 th. If the gear has a few old reworked bfl monarchs it could do 4th. Asicminer could be doing a scam here. Be very careful with this. If it is old bfl monarchs rebuilt it is low cost to them and they could rent from nicehash to supplement it. Nicehash has 400ph so if 200 ph is rented they could cover 5000 of these. For quite a while. Not saying they do this but it is possible. |

I feel bad for anyone who actually purchased this miner. The new z9 full's are shipping now, rated at 40kh, but theoretically overclockable to 60kh+. Making it a much more reliable and cheaper route. 4 Z9's = 240KH for around $13,000 vs this hunk of junk that is realistcally 160-170kh for $20,000+. lol.
