I think that vary often they get info through direct communication, but then they look at other things, like forum, listing, social networks and etc. this is my personal experience. A lot of them look at www.icoguide.com rates, this is new platform and they trust it for the moment. This is personal experience.

I take information about ICO mainly from YouTube, look at a lot of crypto-related YouTube cannels and from the mass of information that they say I make my own conclusions, naturally many of these people can be paid for, when I find interesting for me ICO I start to look what bitcointalk users thinks about it.

I strongly believe your submission because the kind of scam project that are been promoted via forum and social media in recent time is on the increase. I can't imagine myself investing my money in ICO just people whom i don't trust recommend for me online, because they could be the one behind the project since no one here has ever disclose his or her identity.
