Addition of ETC to Coinbase

A question for the beginners, when you saw this currency added to Coinbase, did you think that it would be a good currency to purchase immediately just merely because it was added it Coinbase? Did you think about buying it even though you might not have heard of it because it would be visible to more people?

I think it is so to some extent but still I may not buy that coin because my goal is to make profit not hold good coins.

No, I will never buy ETC. I don't see why anyone would.. Compared to Ethereum they are really making no progress technology-wise (Or atleast that i can see/have noticed in the past few years). I think that there's barely any development on the coin ( compared to Ethereum, which is being developed/used by tons and tons of extremely talented people.)

ETC looks like a coin that should've died off, really. I don't understand why coinbase added them to their site in the first place (Instead of Zcash/Monero.) And i can't find anything about this decision. (Anyone? )

Funny, but this was the first thought that came to my mind when I read this news. Even though ETC goes a long way back, I'm afraid it will be good for pump and dump purposes and nothing more. Now being on Coinbase, a huge base of traders will have access to it, so we may see some sudden price movements.
