Does the forum have a maximum avatar filesize?  Not that I want to upload a large-sized one myself but I've just noticed someone with a 151kb avatar.  As a one-off on a page it's not individually huge, and it looks nice but surely if everyone was to have largeish filesize avatars it would be a bit heavy on bandwidth.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

151kb is large? 512k or 1mb sure but anything under 256k shouldnt be a big issue for anyone not using dialup

I just mean that if everyone used avatars that size (or larger if there's no limit on the forum), just downloading avatars on a 20-post page would be 3 megabytes.  If you used the "All" link to view all posts in a thread that would add up to a lot more.  Seems sensible to limit the size af avatars to save bandwidth for both members and the server.

If it becomes a problem, then yes they should probably be limited.  You're also assuming that every post on a page will be different people (very rare) and that every will have a big avatar.  There are plenty of people out there with no avatar.

Why can't we change our avatar?
