Thanks for the reminder, totally forgot about the certificate application, have been to busy releasing the Exchange and now implementing all the additional functionality that we are planning (translations into German/Chinese, Loans, Stop Orders, Currency support).
As for the question, who is behind Vircurex: this is a German owned family business - read: yes a small organization at this point in time but as and when the volume grows, we'll adjust accordingly. We had the intention to incorporate in Germany. Now with the legal battles going on in France (between MT Gox and the French Authorities) about the treatment of Bitcoin and related bank transactions, we are rethinking the location; Hong Kong is surely one of them, China or other offshore locations are also being evaluated. The bank we are planning to use is HSBC (Hong Kong and/or China) hence the list of currencies.
Best regards Kumala

Hi Kumala, really loving using your exchange. Can I suggest TBX trading too?

Hi Caston,
I'm just looking around, the other exchanges trading TBX don't even have 1BTC volume per day and the hashing power is a mere 0.00059 GH/s (quite a bit of a risk for exchanges due to 51% attacks). Not sure whether TBX is going to last much longer if the hash rates keep on declining like this. But I'll keep an eye on it.
Regards Kumala

Yes I am still tweaking the SSL installation. I have received an official SSL certificate (RapidSSL) and installed it, but my various redirects need to be adjusted. If you login directly via https://vircurex.com the error should not be happening.

SSL: A third party SSL certificate has been installed and configured for https://vircurex.com. Please send an email to customerservice@vircurex.com if you still get an error message, please state your OS and the browser that you are using. New feature released: Option trading. Issue or buy options, we support sell-options (the issuer commits to buy from the buyer at a given price) as well as buy-options (the issuer commits to buy coins at a given price).

Registration process should be simplified.
At the registration page no where it is written that, ¨Password must be at least 8 characters long, contain at least one digit, one lower case character, one upper case character and one special character.¨
If the user makes a mistake in following the undisclosed terms,he is again required to enter all data with captcha code which is already validated.
Just now I left all fields blank, the same message was repeated - ¨Password... ¨. Registration form validation needs some improvements. Please don´t take this as criticism.

Now also allowing you to trade Solidcoins.
Once the block count of I0Coin reaches 160000 and we see an increase in hashing power, we'll be activating I0coin trading too. In the meanwhile you can deposit and withdraw I0Coins already.

In the meanwhile you can deposit and withdraw I0Coins already.
This is still prone to issues with double spenders: 1. Attacker starts mining a fork 2. Attacker deposits i0coin 3. On fork attacker does not include deposit from (2) but sends the same coins to another address they control. 4. Attacker withdraws i0coin 5. Attacker releases fork when it's stronger than the main chain. 6. Exchange has now lost the deposit and the withdrawal. Given that the timetravel exploit hasn't been enabled (block 150,000) this is easy to pull off. A mitigation would be to ensure any withdrawal from a users account comes from the same coins as they used to deposit.

True, I guess it will be manual withdrawals for the time being. Send an email to customerservice@vircurex.com if you wish to withdraw the I0Coins.

Ya, I recommend at least a week at this point for deposits to be verified. It's a long time, but you don't want to get burned.
