Dvorak is a loud smart idiot.  He knows how to get attention without having to pay too much attention to the details, which isn't always bad, some people should have that type of view in life, that general sweep of things rather than looking in depth.  As long as you know this about him, he is entertaining.

Dvorak has always been a screaming idiot incapable of thinking through any process that is more complex than a switch to turn on the computer.  If it requires more brain power than the switch, he's all thumbs and hates the idea.  If you've never listened to him on a podcast, you should... one or two podcasts and it's clear how technophobic and mentally (also physically) ancient he is. 

The thing is, I've been reading his columns since the early 90's (or was it late 80's?) in various magazines and he's always been kind of dumb, but his blanket stupidity has just accelerated at an incredible rate in the past decade.  The only reason he has a platform and voice now a days is because of pure inertia and friend networking.  If he were starting out today, there's no way he could gain any sort of foothold in the public space; he's just too stupid, behind the times and unable to grasp simple modern concepts in technology.

Dvorak should be considered a contrary indicator of the success or failure of technology.

what is wrong about the dvorak keyboard? we only use qwerty because (global) change is difficult, not because it's a better system.

True. And this is why Bitcoin will outlast any of the alternative block chains that are springing up. The dvorak keyboard may be a better layout, but it's only slightly better and it will not gain traction.
