Hello everyone, I have coins on an offline wallet from a while back (v0.8.7.1-unk-beta) last block is 87692.... are these still recoverable?
Do you have the private keys? I believe I do, Just don't know how to find the info on the harddrive, any Help is appreciated I have to option to Sign/Verify a message with the address the coins are in, would the string of characters for either of those be the private key? or do I have to find a file on the harddrive somewhere that holds the pub and private? The private key is just alphanumberic text. Like you said - string of characters I managed to find my way to the wallet.dat file on the old harddrive, and I downloaded the latest excaliber wallet... all that is left to do now is copy the wallet.dat from the old location and replace the wallet.dat in the new location? Anything else I should do to ensure success in the transfer? That should do it. How many EMC2 do you have? HERE comes the dump! lol I think u mean pump. |

Sooo... like another guy posted here recently, I have just started looking at cryptos again after more than 3 years away from it.
I still have some coings in an offline wallet from when I was holding some EMC2 back in the day.
Is it really as simple as downloading the latest wallet then copying across the wallet.dat?
This wallet hasn't been online for over 3 years but I can open it up and it still shows my balance.
If it's so simple then why are there warnings that come with new wallet versions: "must update by xx date"?

Guys, is any abit worried that the price will go downhill from now on until a while. Reason is that we have 3 days and this coin hasn't really moved. If it's going to go up, it needs to be now/before the 19th as people will most likely dump once news comes out.
Big traders are going to fill bags very soon. It's very cheap atm... its impossible to know what the big traders will do. especially now the real professionals from institutions are coming along and really analyzing crypto coins. |

The price will go up tomorrow if the announcement will be really valuable and important.
In case they have a contract with some serious company like Nasa, Microsoft or some other, the price might rise to 50k or above.

Kind of nervous about tomorrow. I have a lot of EMC2, and I'm not sure if I should sell them now and take the profit or hold til tomorrow and see what the news is all about.
Problem is, if the news isn't absolutely amazing, the coin will crash
