Admin brother i want to talk to you Please do not be angry.
Please ban all spammers and close the system to open a new account. You see the user is too much here. Spamming is going on because of Zaara. Here the user has become more than 2 million.
Brand new : 1443336
newbie: 417533
jr member :60389
member, full member, sr member, Hiro member, Legendary :78755
So the bounty started scam. Now if the new account does not stop opening and if not all the scammers are banned, then I think this site wins the devastation. Please try to understand my words. And try to accept it.
Thank You.

Members are one of the product of this forum so I think it's not a good idea to stop or limit the registration for new members. Our goal is to introduce cryptocurrency to the rest of the world how can we achieve that if we don't accept new members??.. I've got your point that most of the newly registered members are spammers but the only thing that we can do it from now is to report them so they'll be punished.

At least require one merit to become a Jr member and disable signatures for newbies, this will help a lot.

The end is near!!....................we shall all turn to dust one day.

I think removing the ability for new registrations is a little bit extreme, honestly. There's other things that can be tried, and tested before taking the most extreme action. Restrictions on who can wear signatures probably needs to happen, and be put behind a merit requirement.

For the time being, the best solution up till now is removing the signature space from the Junior Member to the Newbie rank, or adding a merit requirement to be a Junior Member like what has been talked in the hillariousandco's thread, and (not) surprisingly, many members backed up the suggestion because all think that it is the right thing to do for now. Well, members can only dreaming and still it is the admin that can bring that things up for this forum.

Another solution can be made from managers side. They need to do the job right like checking the spamming of their workers, making a list of spammer, or adding some merit requirement to be on their campaign.

I'm not sure how we could go about this. I guess, only allowing copper members from making a bounty thread? Again, they won't care for paying a small fee, because the bounties generate a lot of noise for their project, and they end up profiting from it anyway. So, I'm not sure what the best option would be. Maybe, only allowing a certain few trustworthy members, but that leads to centralization, and I'm not sure whether that would be welcomed around here.

Yeah it is kinda unrealistic, but imagine if the caliber of all manager is like DarkStar_ , Yahoo62278, Lutpin, Lauda, and all other excellent managers. This forum would be less spammy and all people would be happy. The forum people will feel like it is a tidy home, and worker people can have their job without losing the chance to a bot.

In the perfect world; It would be nice to have those sorts of managers managing the bounty sections, but yeah I think its pretty unrealistic. I doubt many of those managers would be willing to deal with tokens/shares either.

My thoughts exactly, These shitcoin ICO managers are enablers and don't care if they are paying bots and spammers.

The trust brigade needs to hit them where it counts.

There should be a default payout (say a percentage of what the removed account would have received) for any proven fraud account in these bounty/sig campaigns. And if the manager does not drop that account and pay the bounty then that manager should either get Untrustworthy status or be banned.

That will help with these shit accounts/bounty farmer and Sig campaign cheats.

And the beauty of this is may of the bounty hunters will turn into bot scam hunters and the entire thing will police itself with minor mod interference to make a judgment call I would presume.

In the perfect world; It would be nice to have those sorts of managers managing the bounty sections, but yeah I think its pretty unrealistic. I doubt many of those managers would be willing to deal with tokens/shares either.

I think my post should cover this.

BTW, I've been contacted multiple times from ICO lowlifes asking me to manage their Shitcoin launches but I will not spend the time it takes to be a great manager so will not take them up on their offer even if they are on the up and up.

#lima. You did not say anything wrong. It is good to do this.Because Due to the user being 2 million. Now 50% of the bounty program scam and minimam 30% of the total user spammers.Increasing the number of user is increasing as the user is spamming up now.

It will be much more better if both are implemented. Merit required to rank up to Jr. Member while their signature is unaccessible.

I would like to include Zapo who's been doing a very good job as a Manager since the beginning of BQT and IOU campaign. Sometimes I really wish that every manager become as responsible as he is, but it's way too far from the reality and we all know that.

I'm not sure how we could go about this. I guess, only allowing copper members from making a bounty thread? Again, they won't care for paying a small fee, because the bounties generate a lot of noise for their project, and they end up profiting from it anyway. I'm thinking about the same idea but how if we implement a new account membership which will be required to make a bounty thread instead of using copper membership? Of course this new account membership will cost bigger fee than copper. But I'm sure that they can still scam people even though what kind of membership their account has.

I'm also thinking of a different way where an ICO or project and Manager etc. will be reviewed by a Moderator that will be assigned on this task (assuming that we add Mods for this task) before the ICO manager make/create a bounty thread. There are hundreds (thousands?) of bounty being created that's why this will take a lot of time and will be a difficult job for the assigned Mod for sure but will somehow avoid/stop suspicious ICO in launching the bounties here in Bitcointalk. Just my stupid suggestion.

It has one solution only:

Remove signatures completely.

Managers don't care about spam and bots; any press is good press seems to be the motto. Also doesn't make a lot of sense for a lot of marketing strategies as I had pointed out previously .

HERE:

-Not relevant here-

A lot of people have been harping on the Sig campaigns thing. Here are a couple of things:

Q1. Why do companies have Sign Campaigns?

A. To
(a.) To grab eyeballs so that people know about them and invest or use those services.
(b.) To pay posters who make good posts on BCT.

I think it's the (a.). (Correct me if I'm wrong or have a wrong notion anywhere in this post.)

Q2. Do people make decisions to invest in ICO or use a service based on the Sign Holders?

A. I've seen people wear the Signature of a Mixer, I have looked into the service and it looks AWESOME. I wouldn't care if a racist half-wit is wearing that signature and spamming endlessly (actually someone racist is wearing it), I have and will use the service.

I've also seen many good posters wear the sign of a Mining company and I have looked into it again, will I invest, HELL NO!

Q3. What's the use of merits and such regulations then?
A. I hate to say it, but the winners are ICO Bounties that need to pay less (Sorry Satoshi, but Centralized Institutions are winning), because people won't rank up. I think the only useful system is the TRUST, that too when u are trading and not proselytizing your political opinions. As for rest, all Ranks and Merits should be abolished and each Bounty Manager shud be made to count posts and assess the quality and pay for them. ICOs are happy to have 100 Jr. Members Shit-Post and say Good Project while grabbing attention to their projects, because that also is a form of marketing. Why do the PAUL BROTHERS and their gangs have Millions of views when all they make is SHIT, because even cringe is appealing and makes for good marketing.

Q4. What's my proposed solution?
A. Read the BOLD part up.
EDIT : Initiatives such as SMAS list by Lauda is a good reference point and I applaud them, although I'm on the list (Rightly so!) and believe that it has little utility in terms of marketing. (Again grabbing eye-balls is more important !)

My 2cents
: All of us can agree that Sign campaigns pay well, but do they pay to make good posts or to grab eyeballs. If it was to make good posts, add that in Article Bounties. I hope someone points out valid loopholes and assumptions that I made.

Thanks.

P.S. Can some marketing veteran point it out that my logic has fallacies, but remember that most investors in ICOs are extremely clueless and not a reformed crowd that they would care for quality of adverts or advertisers. We also have instances in the past to prove it. MIOTA raised a small seed on forum and was being called a SCAM all the time. The marketing was shit, but most of us can agree that the project is doing good today.
