We're very proud to announce that the hard work and suffering we've endured over the past several months is finally coming to fruition. We can confirm that launch date for Donkey Koin, the Internet's crypto currency MegaWallet is 14th March at 15:00 GMT.

In addition to our announcement we are also pleased to share that due to collaboration with some coin communities the first 100 sign-ups will receive a bounty package of alt-coins deposited straight into their MegaWallets.

Over the past 8 weeks we've had a team of 40 users testing a pre-beta version of Donkey Koin. These have included coin developers, crypto enthusiasts, hardcore miners and the general uninformed public. As users ourselves we now have full confidence in the site we've built and have moved forward to open up to full-beta status.

Security is paramount. Our number one priority is protecting users coins & data. We have several security protocols in place and these will remain confidential. However, we are happy to disclose that Donkey Koin supports two-factor authentification on all logins and up to three-factor on transactions.

We look forward to welcoming you all to DK in under two weeks' time. Meanwhile, we've prepared a few screen grabs below.

MegaWallet
The main event! A fully featured wallet for every coin,
allowing you to safely store all your crypto coins in one
place without losing out on functionality like mining.
Yes, you can mine DIRECTLY to your MegaWallet:

https://cdn.donkeyko.in/images/betasignup/megawallet.png

Trade
This easy to use trade function supporting over 100 Bitcoin
pairings covers the usual suspects and also smaller
up and coming coins:

Personalised dosh.me address
Having several coins can mean handing out your wallet
addresses can be complicated and difficult - at least it was.
Your dosh.me address lists your active coin wallet addresses
on DK publicly.

A word from our chief developer.

DK (Donkey Koin) is built upon a financial industry proven ORM database technology
with a full transactional ledger. Crypto services and exchanges that are based upon NoSQL
technology have a deep seated security flaw which puts users' data at risk. When we set
out to build the Internet's first MegaWallet our primary aim was security and as these past
few months have shown our concern has not been unwarranted.

The whole system is based upon a 'separation of concerns' ideal - separating components
and restricting communication between them. This modularity gives us many benefits
including better load balancing and future-proofing, easier maintainability to handle future
growth and changes in the crypto world and most importantly, some very strong security
and no one component has enough rights to do anything damaging.

Of course only a fool would go into detail with regards to their security measures in place,
so let me finish by saying we have made every preparation possible to ensure that your
coins and data are safe with DK.

- James.

Interesting. Signed up, but would like to know more about the security side of things:

Security is paramount. Our number one priority is protecting users coins & data. We have several security protocols in place and these will remain confidential.

You'll forgive me for not wanting to 'just trust' a new Bitcoin-related service out of the box, but more information on why the site is secure would go a long way. Otherwise all it comes across as is security through obscurity.

Hi Scribe,

We did go into some detail regarding security:

Quote
DK (Donkey Koin) is built upon a financial industry proven ORM database technology

Thanks for signing up. We shall be in touch on pi day.

I have had the pleasure to speak to these guys in IRC.  They are 100% serious about security and have lots of new technology built into their platform.  Stuff that would take other exchanges years to implement.

However, these guys love to have fun.  The retro look and feel brings you back in time and the easter eggs will keep you laughing.

I have told several coin devs about their new exchange and they all can't wait to start using it.

I can't wait for the launch!

Oh wow I can't wait for this because I have a ton of wallets downloaded on my laptop and it looks like a train wreck lol amidst the 5-6 exchanges I got like satoshis of coins sprawled around. I will be glad to promote this and I will do a blog post for it in the coming days to alert my crypto fans. Smiley Can you please add fckbankscoin as well to the list and some others I will bring a list when I got time. Smiley

Not to be negative or anything, but how does this coin not infringe on Donkey Kong rights?

Hey Qiwoman,

DK is built for people like you in mind. Collecting crypto can be a strain on your computer's processing power. In some cases just one wallet can slow it down, not to mention copious amounts of bandwidth to download blockchains. Let Donkey Koin sort that hassle out for you! Wink

I have had some involvement in the pre beta testing and have really enjoyed filling my wallet up, even just trying to collect a little bit
of every coin has been so much fun ,
I have found it addictive to collect all the alternative coins that are available out there as I have DK to store all my coins..
I can’t say that I have found another website with some many alternative wallets available in one place......

Good idea but some constructive criticism...

You might have problems with the timing of your release, with Mt Gox still very fresh in people's minds... I think the Mt. Gox failure has taught people not to trust someone else with their wallets for any significant amounts.

Also if you want people to trust your security your going to need to give specifics.  Your description is fairly weak and asking people to just trust you will only fly so far as a few dollars in their accounts.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Look forward to having you on board.

Regarding an IPO, perhaps one day in the future after we've gained the trust of users and proved the viability of DK, but right now we've taken time off work and dug into our savings to work on this ourselves.

Nothing on autosell?

Our roadmap does have plans for a similar feature to autosell for the future.
